The movement “Accompanying young people to establish their own careers” of Son La City Youth Union has become a strong driving force to help many union members and young people to become rich legitimately. Not only creating jobs and stabilizing family economy, the movement also contributes significantly to the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas in the locality.
As one of 13 outstanding young people honored by Son La Youth Union at the Youth Startup Festival 2024, with his dynamism, creativity and enthusiasm, Tong Duc Nhan, Chieng Co commune, Son La city, has taken advantage of his family's available advantages to realize his dream of promoting Thai ethnic culture and cuisine. In 2016, he started a business with a fishing and culinary eco-tourism model. After many efforts, Na Phum Fishing eco-tourism has become a familiar address, attracting tourists from near and far. Not only bringing in hundreds of millions of VND in income each year, this model also creates stable jobs for local workers.
Union member Tong Duc Nhan, Chieng Co commune, Son La city: “Since its establishment, my family’s model has created jobs for 3-5 seasonal workers, helping them have a stable income. In the coming time, my family plans to expand the scale to attract more tourists, thereby further developing the local economy.”
Also with the desire to start a business in his hometown, in 2023, young union member Dieu Chinh Tuyen in Tam Quynh village, Chieng Den commune boldly borrowed capital from the Social Policy Bank to invest in livestock farming. Currently, his farm has nearly 100 black chickens, 100 pigs and 1 3B cow. After deducting expenses, it brings in an income of about 400 million VND/year, opening up a direction for sustainable economic development for his family.
Youth Union member Dieu Chinh Tuyen, Chieng Den commune, Son La city: "I borrowed capital from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies through the provincial youth union's program to deposit savings for the youth union to borrow capital to start a business. I was lucky to borrow 80 million VND. I used that capital to raise livestock and build solid barns."
Recognizing the strong entrepreneurial spirit of young people, Son La City Youth Union has carried out many practical activities to support union members in developing production and business. Currently, the union bases are managing 47 savings and loan groups, with a total outstanding loan balance of over 68.5 billion VND, supporting nearly 1,500 households. Thanks to preferential capital, many young people have had the opportunity to develop their economy, taking advantage of local potential to escape poverty and become rich legitimately.
Comrade Lo Quoc Viet, Secretary of the Son La City Youth Union: “Successful start-up models not only help young people develop the economy but also spread the spirit of daring to think and daring to do. This is the motivation for many other union members to confidently start a business, overcome difficulties, and enrich their homeland.”
With will, aspiration and creativity, the youth of Son La city are gradually asserting their role in socio-economic development. Each successful model not only brings income to themselves but also contributes to the overall development of the locality. The youth start-up movement is not only a story of getting rich, but also a journey to realize dreams, building a more and more beautiful homeland./.
