The owner of the Vietlott jackpot of nearly 257 billion VND only thought he won a small prize.

This morning (August 22), Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) held a ceremony to award Jackpot 1 of Power 6/55 product worth nearly 257 billion VND at the 917th drawing of Power 6/55 lottery which took place on the evening of August 12.

This is Vietlott's second highest prize ever.

The owner of this Jackpot 1 prize is Mr. D.H. (name abbreviated by Vietlott, currently self-employed in Gia Lai province).

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. H. said that he is a regular player of Vietlott lottery products. That day, he bought lottery tickets as usual. When he received the winning text message, he thought he would probably only win small prizes. But when he opened the message and saw the huge number, he was very surprised. He could not believe that he was the lucky person to win the second highest prize in the history of lottery in Vietnam.

According to regulations, Mr. H. is obliged to pay personal income tax at the place of registration for the prize opening, Gia Lai province, with a total value of more than 25.6 billion VND (10% of the value exceeding 10 million VND) and is deducted immediately upon receiving the prize. After paying 10% personal income tax, Mr. H. received more than 230 billion VND.

Mr. H. has donated 3 billion VND to social security activities.

Vietlott's biggest lottery prize, also the highest prize ever in the history of lottery in Vietnam, is worth more than 303 billion VND. This is the prize found in the 119th drawing of Power 6/55 product in 2018. The owner of this prize is a customer in Hanoi.
