In the 2024-2025 school year, most private schools in Hanoi will apply the method of considering secondary school transcripts to enroll students in grade 10.
In addition, some schools will consider admission based on the scores of the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in the 2024-2025 school year (the exam will take place on June 8 and 9); training results, and academic records. Some schools will consider admission using both methods (using exam results and academic records).
Below are details of the admission plan for grade 10 at private high schools in the city:
According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the number of 9th grade students in the city participating in the recognition of junior high school graduation in the 2023-2024 school year is about 133,000 students (an increase of 4,000 students compared to the previous school year).
Among junior high school graduates, the percentage of students who passed the 10th grade entrance exam at public schools this year is about 60%. The rest must choose to study at private high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers, vocational education institutions, and colleges.
Thus, the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in Hanoi is expected to have about 81,200 students pass into public schools, while the remaining 51,800 students will fail and have to attend private or vocational schools.
