Sisters in Ho Chi Minh City participate in parade rehearsal to celebrate April 30th

(Dan Tri) - My Uyen and her younger sister My Phung joined the militia (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City). The two sisters were in the parade rehearsal for the 50th Anniversary of National Reunification Day.

Summoned to the Ho Chi Minh City Command on December 23, the female militia group has spent nearly 3 months training, preparing for the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Major Huynh Van Nhu, a training instructor, said the most difficult thing for the female soldiers was having to practice in hot weather. The training intensity was also high, every day from 7am to 11am in the morning and from 1:30pm to 4pm in the afternoon.

Under the scorching sun of early March in Ho Chi Minh City, female militiamen are still diligently practicing.

It is known that the training process always maintains strict regulations and discipline to ensure the best quality.

In the group of female militiamen summoned this time, about 50% of the troops participated in the parade on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

In the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification, the female militia group of Ho Chi Minh City was tasked with recreating the image of female guerrillas from the South wearing Ao Ba Ba, checkered scarves, and M16 submachine guns on their shoulders.

During training, they temporarily wear militia uniforms, which will then be changed into official uniforms.

Boxes of bread and cartons of milk were distributed to each person during breaks between practices.

Ly My Uyen (28 years old, right) and her younger sister Ly My Phung (22 years old) are members of the militia force of District 5. The two sisters participated in the training formation for the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

My Uyen shared that when she first came to live and work at the Command Headquarters, the two sisters faced many difficulties in daily life. After only a few days, Uyen was able to adapt to the military environment. "My parents at home were very happy and excited when they found out that the two sisters were in the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification," Uyen said.

Ly My Phung joined the local militia at the age of 18. Phung also participated in the parade marking the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory last May.

"I feel very proud to be part of the rehearsal for the upcoming April 30th parade. It is not only an honor for myself but also for my family," My Phung shared.

According to the plan, the 50th Anniversary of National Reunification Day will be held in Ho Chi Minh City with a parade on the morning of April 30. The army prepares many rituals such as firing 21 cannon shots, air force salute, parade of the army blocs, southern guerrillas...

The female militia members who are training for the 50th Anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) will live and eat at the unit. Each week, these female militia members will be able to visit their families on the weekend.
