Previously, on the evening of January 25, Trang Bom District Medical Center admitted M to the hospital with crushed hands and injuries to her head and face.
According to the family and the doctor, the firecracker exploded while the male student was making it at home, causing serious injuries to both hands and the right eye socket.
Immediately afterwards, the male student was taken to Trang Bom District Medical Center for first aid and then transferred to Dong Nai Children's Hospital for treatment.
However, due to the severe injury to the eye socket, the patient was transferred to a higher level hospital for further treatment.
According to statistics from Dong Nai Children's Hospital, in 2024, the unit received, provided emergency care and treated more than 10 children with firecracker and firearm accidents of varying degrees of severity.
Many cases have become disabled, lost fingers, lost hands, burned all over the face, all over the body, had to be hospitalized for long periods of time and left serious consequences.
According to Dr. Pham Van Khuong, head of the orthopedic trauma and burn department at Dong Nai Children's Hospital, the consequences of gunshot wounds are quite serious, often resulting in loss of limbs, and the remaining limbs also losing many functions or leaving many sequelae.
Dr. Khuong recommends that parents pay more attention and regularly advise about the harmful effects of playing with firecrackers. At the same time, closely monitor their children to avoid unfortunate consequences.
