Previously, on the evening of March 20, a forest fire broke out at a Lagerstroemia hill near Tau mountain in Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province. The burned hill was located along National Highway 1A. According to records, many fire spots appeared on the hill.
At this time, there was a strong wind and many dry trees on the hill, so the fire spread quickly. In the dark, the fire spread widely, lighting up the entire hill and was easily visible from a distance. The fire police force, along with specialized vehicles and police forces, were present at the scene to deploy fire fighting.

On the morning of March 21, information from the authorities of Binh Thuan province said that the fire at Tau mountain, Tuy Phong district did not cause any human casualties, only burned the ground cover.
Firefighters have been working to put out the fire. By 11pm on March 20, the fire was completely extinguished. Images taken this morning at the scene show that the Lagerstroemia trees are still there.
