(Dan Tri) - Vuong Dong (29 years old) has just completed a solo trip to 3 continents in 30 days with only 60 million VND.

Dreaming of exploring the world since he was a child, when he went to university, Vuong Dong chose to major in tourism in Vietnam, then continued his master's degree in France. Currently, he lives and works in Normandy, in the West of France. The 9X guy said that he has cherished the plan to explore 3 continents right after a 15-day bus trip around Europe in 2022. This time, the Vietnamese guy will depart from the capital Paris, France (Europe), then go to Marrakech, followed by Morocco (Africa); explore Montreal, Toronto, Canada (North America); La Havana, Cuba (America) and finally return to France.

Overwhelmed by the luxury and peace of life without internet

His first destination was France. The classic, sophisticated, elegant and trendy architecture in the capital city of Paris completely convinced him, feeling overwhelmed by the majestic and splendid scenery here. The dishes were evaluated by the Vietnamese guest as expensive but delicious and bringing a unique flavor. Next was the city of Marrakech, Morocco. Looking down from the plane window, Vuong Dong was surprised to see that this place was more developed and beautiful than he had imagined. When the plane landed, Dong was guided to the ticket counter, then followed the order number on the ticket to find the taxi number. "I was very surprised by the service here. The hotel owner was enthusiastic, always showing me good restaurants with the best prices," Dong said.

Walking in the old town of Marrakesh, Dong found a familiar feeling because the scenery was quite similar to the old town of Hoi An. The male tourist shared that if you don't have a map, it's easy to get lost here because of the deep, winding alleys. In addition to cuisine, the famous Medina market also sells many handicrafts, stones, paintings, shoes, and clothes with bright colors that attract tourists. After the day of experience, Dong continued to fly to Canada, spending part of his time in Montreal, Toronto, and visiting Niagara Falls. The young man said that Montreal gives a clean and beautiful feeling, the town of Niagara Falls is peaceful, but Toronto is extremely modern with skyscrapers, luxurious hotels, sparkling, and bright at night. Canadian cuisine is considered expensive by Dong, especially the tips in restaurants in Canada are quite high. Dong said: "A smoked meat sandwich costs 14 USD (more than 350,000 VND) but when adding tax and tip, it can be up to 17-18 USD. However, this is understandable because the service here is good and the staff is enthusiastic."

The place that left the guy with the most memories was the capital of Cuba, La Havana. Here, the people openly welcomed Dong. When they knew he came from Vietnam, they also called him by the intimate name "brother". Dong said that Cuba is very safe, everyone is friendly and feels like home. During his days in the capital La Havana, Dong chose to live without the Internet. He fully enjoyed the moment here. The male tourist spent more time for himself, exploring the scenery, food and relaxing. Dong said he only used wifi at the hotel to update his family. In La Havana, there is a clear distinction between rich and poor, for example, only 100m apart, but one side is a hotel with luxurious buildings and the other side is a simple residential area. Unlike the old town of Marrakech, the streets in La Havana are spacious, easy to walk and easier to remember for Dong. Also here, Dong was extremely surprised when the food was quite cheap and fresh with many kinds of seafood. For only 12 USD (more than 300,000 VND), visitors can eat lobster and enjoy a paradise of drinks, cheap cocktails are very suitable to sip in the typical hot weather in Cuba. Here, Dong rests and relaxes. In the morning, the young man wanders around to find a place to drink coffee, go for a walk and have lunch. In the afternoon, Dong drinks sugarcane juice and walks along the beach, and returns to the hotel to sleep early in the evening.

The secret to traveling to 3 continents with 60 million VND

Dong shared that it took him a lot of time to choose destinations on each continent because each place had to meet the criteria he set such as direct flights, cheap prices, simple visa procedures, high safety level... In addition, he also wanted to go to places with rich culture, history or many attractive destinations. After making a list of places to go, Dong began to calculate the most reasonable and economical travel plan. Initially, he planned to fly in a circle with a one-way ticket, but after recalculating, he found it not suitable. Therefore, Dong decided to depart on the old plan. Dong said it took him two more days just to book plane tickets and hotel rooms. To have a complete experience, Vuong Dong revealed that it is necessary to pay attention to maintaining energy, especially adapting to time zones when traveling to different locations. Therefore, in his plan, the male tourist chose to go to Morocco and Africa first, because compared to France, these two locations are 2 hours apart, so time will not be a problem. With the criteria of being as economical as possible, Vuong Dong said that the trip to explore 3 continents within 1 month costs about 60 million VND. Of which, the cheap round-trip airfare to move to the locations is about 27 million VND. Dong was sponsored by his brother for 2 weeks of accommodation when he was in Montreal, Canada. After this trip, Dong realized that his worldview was expanded, and he had a different perspective on life. He enjoyed the poetic and romantic beauty while walking in the rain on a street corner of Paris, France, then was overwhelmed by the sparkling lights of skyscrapers at night, the luxury and expensiveness of the metropolis in Toronto, Canada, then was surprised by the bare houses, the poverty and hardship of the people in La Havana, Cuba... Dong revealed that his previous plan also included South America. After exploring Cuba, he planned to go to Bogota, Colombia. However, Dong decided to cancel the trip due to security issues. Through those special experiences, Vuong Dong realized that he needed to try to improve himself more, appreciate what he had, travel more and live more slowly. The male tourist shared that Africa is the place he wants to return to the most because there are many new things here that he has not yet discovered. He hopes to experience a desert tour or go see the migratory animals here. Vuong Dong said he will definitely return to South America with a certain country on his next trip. In addition, Australia and the two poles are also in the 9X guy's dream of discovery.
