Need to be flexible in activities and tasks of the cultural and sports sector

(Fatherland) - On December 26, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Binh province held a conference to deploy tasks for 2025.

According to the report, in 2024, the Quang Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism achieved many important results in culture, sports and family work. Notably, many major events of Quang Binh province were successfully organized, creating strong impressions in social life, contributing to promoting the image of Quang Binh to domestic and foreign friends.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee, hopes that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism needs to be flexible in its activities to integrate resources to organize activities and tasks of the industry.

Currently, nearly 90% of households in Quang Binh province have been recognized as "Cultural Families"; more than 82% of villages and residential groups have achieved cultural titles, these criteria have increased compared to the plan set for 2024.

In 2024, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a decision to recognize 3 heritages of Quang Binh as national intangible cultural heritages, including: the March Full Moon Festival in Minh Hoa district; Tuong Boi singing in Hung Trach commune (Bo Trach) and Sac Bua singing in Minh Hoa district and Dong Hoi city.

In the cultural field, Quang Binh province added 6 historical relics ranked at provincial level; collected 278 artifacts, documents, and photo documents; organized 9 document exhibitions. Organized dozens of art performances and propaganda performances attracting hundreds of thousands of viewers.

According to the report, as of October 31, 2024, Quang Binh's high-performance sports teams had participated in 34 competitions (31 domestic sports competitions and 3 international competitions) and won 178 medals (40 gold medals, 52 silver medals and 86 bronze medals).

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province acknowledged the achieved results and agreed with the tasks and directions in the coming time set by the Department of Culture and Sports of Quang Binh province. At the same time, he requested the Department of Culture and Sports to focus on accelerating the implementation of goals and targets for the development of culture, sports and family, contributing to the completion of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the Socio-Economic Development Plan for the period 2021-2025.

In the process of implementing conservation and development work, it is necessary to associate it with the implementation of targets and objectives of the National Target Programs; Developing and investing resources for high-performance sports must go hand in hand with mass sports and grassroots sports; focusing on investment, accelerating the construction progress as well as effectively managing and operating cultural and sports institutions. Many grassroots collectives and individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their achievements in 2024.

At the conference, grassroots units also had presentations and presented policies to support the development of grassroots culture and proposed solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles to continue to effectively implement the key tasks and goals set by the Department of Culture and Sports in 2025. On this occasion, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements were awarded certificates of merit by the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.
