In the past few days, a clip of a father dressed as a dinosaur to pick up his child at the school gate has gone viral on social media, attracting millions of views and tens of thousands of likes and comments.
In the clip, the man “riding a dinosaur” appeared at the school gate and shouted loudly: “Kim Huong, Kim Huong, Kim Huong, come to the school gate, there is a very handsome father riding a dinosaur to pick you up, my child.”
Then the little girl walked out with a surprised and rather shy look on her face. The father continued: "You like riding dinosaurs, right?". The little girl replied: "Yes, but not here." Although she thought he would refuse, the little girl still climbed onto her father's back, smiling happily while her friends cheered around.
Previously, the father also appeared in the clip wearing a colorful floral outfit to pick up his child from school. In the clip, he went to the school gate, borrowed the school’s microphone, and said loudly: “Please, please, Kim Huong, class 5/3, come out the gate, there is a very handsome, lovely and cute father waiting. Please, Kim Huong, come out the gate!”
Kim Huong quickly stepped out, but when she saw the bright red outfit her father was wearing, she froze for a few seconds and then ran away because she was too shy, leaving her father to chase after her and call: "Dad, dad". This clip attracted 10 million views. The funny and adorable moment between father and daughter made netizens laugh out loud.
Love for little girl
The funny father in the clip is Pham The Phuong (48 years old, living in Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang) and his daughter is Pham Ho Kim Huong (11 years old).
Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Phuong said that since Kim Huong was little, he often recorded clips. The clips recorded daily moments of father and daughter such as quizzes, swimming, mountain climbing, cycling... He shared them on social networks as a way to preserve memories and was quite surprised to receive great affection from everyone.
Mr. Pham The Phuong and his daughter
Mr. Phuong confided that he and his wife only have one daughter, Kim Huong. 5 years ago, Kim Huong was diagnosed with leukemia. After treatment, Kim Huong's health has stabilized, although she still has to take medicine every day.
Since my daughter got sick, I cherish every moment more and more, wanting to keep as many happy memories with her as possible. Knowing that my daughter likes to stand out and be different from the crowd, I came up with the idea of welcoming her in a unique style, unlike anyone else's, to create joy and surprise for her.
Mr. Phuong and his wife often go cycling with their children.
Mr. Phuong commented that Kim Huong is strong, independent, obedient, and has a humorous personality like him.
Since the age of 4, Kim Huong has been sleeping alone. During her treatment, despite having to face painful bone marrow punctures, she was strong and cooperated with the doctors. Phuong and his wife run a restaurant, and every day, in her free time, the little girl often helps her parents sell, from washing dishes, clearing tables and chairs, to waiting tables... Whenever there is a vacant position in the restaurant, she is ready to take over that position.
Mr. Phuong always sees his daughter as a friend.
Mr. Phuong said that father and son are very close, often sharing and confiding in each other like two friends.
“I don’t put academic pressure on my children. What I teach them most is to say sorry, thank you, teach them how to behave, be strong, have perseverance, and know how to exercise,” he said.
When he found out his son was sick, Mr. Phuong chose a private school so that his son would not be under too much pressure to study. His wife usually took him to school, and he picked him up.
Father and son often keep moments together
To help his son exercise, gain more experience and help father and son bond more, Mr. Phuong made a tandem bicycle for the two of them to ride together. The two of them traveled all over Da Nang, all the way to Hoi An (Quang Nam province). The longest ride they ever took was a total distance of 80km.

Mr. Phuong said that his daughter often said she was proud to have a funny and humorous father. After the times her father picked her up "crazy", everyone at Kim Huong school knew her and she was very happy about that.
“My daughter also loves reading comments online. Every time I post a clip, she often asks me to read the comments for her to see. Most of the comments are positive, full of wishes and encouragement from everyone, so I let her watch them and she is very happy,” Mr. Phuong confided. Giving all their love to their little daughter, what Mr. Phuong and his wife want most is for their daughter to always be healthy, have a happy childhood, and have lots of laughter.
