The Politburo decided to exempt all tuition fees for students from kindergarten to high school nationwide, effective from the beginning of the new school year 2025-2026.

At the Politburo meeting on February 28 to review and evaluate the initial results of implementing Resolution 18 of the 12th Central Executive Committee on continuing to innovate and streamline the political system's apparatus to operate effectively and efficiently, the Politburo highly agreed on the policy of implementing more strongly, drastically and quickly the contents of Resolution 18 in 2025.

Also at the meeting, after listening to the Government's report on the ability to balance finances during and after the process of streamlining the political system's apparatus, the Politburo decided to exempt all tuition fees for students from kindergarten to high school nationwide.

Implementation time from the beginning of the new school year 2025 - 2026 (September 2025 onwards).

The Politburo assigned the Government Party Committee to direct the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Finance, a number of relevant ministries, branches and localities to coordinate in concretizing and seriously implementing the above decision.

According to the current Education Law, primary school students in public educational institutions do not have to pay tuition fees. From September 1, 2024, preschool children will be exempted from tuition fees, according to the provisions of Decree No. 81 of the Government.

Currently, many provinces and cities across the country have implemented 100% tuition exemption from kindergarten to high school for students at public educational institutions.

Most recently, Ho Chi Minh City has also decided to exempt tuition fees for preschool children and public and non-public high school students from the 2025-2026 school year.
