Coming from a feudal intellectual family with a tradition of patriotism and loyalty, the young Nguyen Tat Thanh was well educated early on, not only in the knowledge and morality of the sages but also in the lessons of human morality and ideals of life. Nguyen Tat Thanh followed his father, Nguyen Sinh Sac, to all three regions of the country, witnessing the difficult and humiliating lives of the people who lost their country as well as clearly seeing the dependent and lowly lives of officials and lackeys. In particular, the failure of patriotic movements, especially the collapse of the Dong Du movement in the early 20th century, raised many thoughts and influenced his aspirations, so that the young man with a strong love for his country and people made a correct and bold decision to go abroad to find a way to save the country.

On June 5, 1911, from Ben Nha Rong, Gia Dinh (now Ho Chi Minh City), the young man full of revolutionary ambition Nguyen Tat Thanh, just 21 years old, named Van Ba, boarded the ship Amiral Latouche Treville to work as a kitchen assistant, determined to find a way to save the nation. Having experienced and understood the reasons for the failure of the patriotic movements of the early 20th century of his predecessors, with his political vision and youthful enthusiasm, Nguyen Tat Thanh went to the West to learn about other countries and then returned to help his compatriots: “I want to go abroad to see France and other countries. After seeing how they do it, I will return to help our compatriots”.

On July 6, 1911, the ship docked at Marseille port, the first place Nguyen Tat Thanh set foot in France. After that, he crossed 3 oceans, 4 continents Asia, Europe, Africa, America with nearly 30 countries, met and interacted with many peoples, cultures,... thoroughly understood the nature of capitalism, imperialism, the suffering and fate of colonial peoples. In 1918, with the name Nguyen Ai Quoc, from a patriotic youth, he expanded his social activities and interacted with many intellectuals with progressive ideas. In 1920, he participated in the Tours Congress and became one of the young people who founded the French Communist Party. After that, he came to Marxism-Leninism and determined to follow the path of the October Revolution: "My suffering compatriots! This is what we need, this is the path to liberate us". This is the path of world proletarian revolution. The path of Marxism-Leninism!

On June 5, 1911, leaving Ben Nha Rong, on January 28, 1941, Uncle Ho returned to the country after 30 years of wandering abroad, working, studying, researching world revolutionary theory and practice, Nguyen Ai Quoc returned to the Fatherland, bringing with him an extremely valuable asset, which was the revolutionary path, the path to liberating the Vietnamese people. The Vietnamese revolutionary path that Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh built was the foundation for all victories of the Vietnamese revolution.

For Vietnamese people, Ben Nha Rong is one of the places with special historical significance, a “red address” that attracts a large number of people and tourists to visit and learn about the great life of President Ho Chi Minh. In particular, the event from Ben Nha Rong, Uncle Ho left to find a way to save the nation, marking an important turning point in the struggle for independence, freedom, national unification and development towards the path of building a pure and increasingly strong socialism as it is today./.
