There is nothing better than enjoying local specialties during the traditional Tet holiday of the nation. Having products that meet OCOP standards further affirms the quality, brand and pride of the locality. From the last months of the year, production facilities are busy preparing and continuously producing to have goods to serve customers during the Tet holiday, especially local customers.

Delicious food to invite guests to your home

In the traditional customs of Vietnamese people, on Tet holiday, relatives and friends come to each other's house to wish each other good health, luck, peace and enjoy cakes, jams or warm, intimate meals. In recent years, people have gradually favored local specialties, because they feel secure about the quality as well as proud of the products made by their hometown.

With the goal of developing the family economy and contributing quality products to the locality, Mr. Do Cao Chi (born in 1982, residing in Hamlet 3, Tan Thanh Commune, Thu Thua District, Long An Province) constantly learns, grows from failures and succeeds with the Sala Goat Milk brand.

Mr. Chi is registering the intellectual property of the Sala Goat Milk brand and currently produces nearly 20 products, including 8 products that meet OCOP standards with 6 freeze-dried yogurt products of various flavors that meet OCOP 4 stars, 2 products including pasteurized goat milk and goat yogurt that meet OCOP 3 stars, and freeze-dried fruit products including pineapple, jackfruit, longan, mango, durian, dragon fruit, banana. His dried yogurt and dried fruit dishes are popular, especially during Tet holidays.

To gain customers' trust and support, especially to proudly promote local specialties, Mr. Chi has gone through many ups and downs. Mr. Chi shared: “With each step, I carefully calculate and have a clear plan to invest simultaneously, bringing high and sustainable efficiency. The products are produced centrally according to orders. In addition to goat milk products, I am also proud to produce dried fruit products, because it is lemongrass grown in my hometown of Long An. Through that, I introduce the fruits of my hometown to customers in and outside the province”.

After the snacks for drinking water and tea, there are savory dishes on the banquet table. Along with the typical dishes of the Traditional Tet such as braised pork, stewed bitter melon, pickled onions, etc., there are new dishes according to local specialties. Duc Hue district has the Ut Ton sun-dried frog product of Mr. Hoang Ngoc Ton (61 years old, residing in Hamlet 4, My Thanh Bac Commune) which is also quite popular. This is a product that Mr. Ton has put a lot of effort into to both solve the output for frog farmers and develop the family economy.

As a farmer, he clearly understands the worries of “good harvest, low prices”, difficult agricultural product output makes many people struggle to develop their family economy. After a period of thinking and researching, Mr. Ton decided to have a new, more innovative direction to promptly solve the problem of frogs that have not been sold at a good price, to be able to preserve the product for a long time as well as diversify frog products to find customers. So, Mr. Ton decided to make dried frog products to bring to the market.

Mr. Ton confided: “Farmers are most afraid of being forced to lower prices, but this situation is like a vicious cycle, with no way out. Meanwhile, frogs cannot be accumulated to sell gradually, so farmers suffer losses. That is the motivation that helps me find solutions to overcome this, to find stable output for my family and local frog farmers.”

Mr. Hoang Ngoc Ton (Hamlet 4, My Thanh Bac Commune, Duc Hue District) strives to develop his family's dried frog products.

During the production process, Mr. Ton puts prestige and product quality first. Dried frogs are made from fresh and delicious frogs. The marinating ingredients and the process of drying frogs all focus on food safety. The dried frog product contains a lot of passion, emotion and expectation, because he hopes that this product will develop more and more, helping to increase family income, solve output for frog farmers, create job opportunities for people and especially contribute to the locality with a quality product.

Thanks to that determination, Mr. Ton gradually succeeded with the Ut Ton sun-dried frog brand. Currently, the dried frog product is favored by many customers because of its unique flavor from his marinade recipe. In addition to local customers, Mr. Ton has built a stable and increasingly expanding customer network in Dong Nai province, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, etc.

"Local specialties are not only delicious dishes for Tet but also help make meetings and conversations more intimate and friendly."

Let's drink a cup of tea and a glass of wine on a spring day

On a free spring day, family members, relatives and friends have the opportunity to sit together, chat, drink tea and wine to welcome the new year and wish each other peace and happiness. In addition to traditional teas and wines, many new teas and wines are also chosen by customers during Tet.

Mr. Vo Hong Hoa (Go Do hamlet, Binh Hoa Tay commune, Moc Hoa district) confidently introduced his products at the Proud Vietnamese Products Fair organized by the province.

In Moc Hoa district, Mr. Vo Hong Hoa (born in 1997, residing in Go Do hamlet, Binh Hoa Tay commune) grows cordyceps and produces 3 products including fresh, freeze-dried and powdered cordyceps. Of which, the freeze-dried cordyceps product meets the 3-star OCOP standard .

In addition to being used in cooking, these products can also be used to make tea for drinking. This is a healthy product and is a priority choice for many people for their families and relatives, especially during Tet.

To bring the product to the market as well as meet the 3-star OCOP standard and gain the trust and acceptance of many customers, Mr. Hoa made great efforts. Having a passion for researching and cultivating mushrooms, Mr. Hoa started a business in this field when he was a student.

In particular, when he realized that the market for cordyceps mushrooms was developing well and was not yet available locally, Mr. Hoa boldly planted mushrooms and invested in the production process of mushroom products.

Mr. Hoa confided: “Even though I encounter difficulties, I will not give up because the destination is ahead. Especially, when the product meets the 3-star OCOP standard, I am more confident in the path I am taking. I will try to make the product reach more customers, especially proud when it is present in families during Tet holidays”.

In addition to wine quality, Ms. Ngo Thi My Huong (Ward 4, Dong Thanh Town, Duc Hue District) also focuses on product packaging.

Next to tea is a glass of wine in the spring. One of the types of wine that has gradually become popular and become a specialty of Duc Hue district is Cana wine of Ms. Ngo Thi My Huong (Ward 4, Dong Thanh town). From locally available ingredients, Ms. Huong makes Cana wine and gradually builds the Huong Cana Wine brand.

There are types of Ca Na wine for women and for men. The wine for women is the initial wine product after being soaked with sugar for a suitable period of time. The wine for men is further soaked with rice wine so it has a higher alcohol content. With the sophistication in product classification, both men and women can enjoy Ca Na wine to feel the sweetness combined with the characteristic flavor of Ca Na.

According to Ms. Huong, thanks to the characteristics of the star fruit, the drinker will not feel too tired after getting drunk. The wine has a sweet taste ranging from light to strong, so it is suitable for many people. This is also a product that helps star fruit growers solve the output problem.

Local specialties are not only delicious dishes for Tet but also help make meetings and conversations more intimate and friendly./.
