This afternoon (December 11), the Vung Tau City Police Department announced that it had just issued a decision to prosecute and order the temporary detention of Ms. Trinh Thi Bay (48 years old, residing in Ward 7, Vung Tau City) to investigate the crime of "Torturing others". The above decisions and orders have been approved by the People's Procuracy at the same level.

Defendant Bay was determined to have beaten and tortured children by using his hands to pinch their noses, slap their mouths, pull their hair, and use a stainless steel spoon to hit them while feeding them milk - causing a stir in public opinion in recent days.

According to the investigation, Ms. Trinh Thi Bay has no professional degree in preschool education, and has been babysitting at her private home on Le Loi Street, Ward 7, Vung Tau City for about 2 years now. Here, Ms. Bay takes care of about 8-10 children aged 10-30 months, charging a monthly fee of 1.5-2 million VND/child (depending on age).

Every morning after receiving the children from their parents, Mrs. Bay feeds them, gives them milk, takes care of them, and hands them over to their parents in the late afternoon. To help with the babysitting, since November 22, Mrs. Bay has hired Ms. BTML (25 years old).

During her time working here, Ms. L. witnessed many times that this woman regularly beat and tortured the children by using her hands to pinch their noses, pat their mouths, pull their hair, and use a stainless steel spoon and TV remote to hit them in many places on their bodies when they were fed porridge, milk, or refused to sleep.

Despite being reminded, Mrs. Bay did not listen, so Ms. L. was upset and used her phone to record the times she assaulted the children. On December 6, Ms. L. quit her job and sent these clips to Ms. TTTT, the mother of T. (1 year old) - one of the abused children.

On December 7, Ms. T. and two parents reported her actions to the police and submitted the videos.

On December 8, the Investigation Police Agency of Vung Tau City Police issued a decision to temporarily detain Ms. Trinh Thi Bay for the crime of Torturing others.
