Believing a woman, a man lost more than half a billion dong when applying to go to the US.

(Dan Tri) - To prepare documents for exporting labor to the US, a Quang Tri man gave money to a woman to prepare the documents and had more than 500 million VND stolen.

On the afternoon of March 12, the Investigation Police Agency, Quang Tri Provincial Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Hoang Thi Le Hang (born in 1993, residing in Cam Thanh commune, Cam Lo district, Quang Tri) for the crime of Fraudulent appropriation of property.

According to the investigation results, in mid-2024, Hang provided false information and promised to prepare documents for Mr. NXC (residing in Cam Lo town, Cam Lo district) to export labor to the US.

Hang asked Mr. C's family to give her more than 500 million VND to complete the paperwork. However, after receiving the money, Hang appropriated it for personal use.

The case continues to be clarified by Quang Tri Provincial Police.
