Due to the impact of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) making landfall in the North of our country, in recent days, widespread floods have caused serious consequences for the northern mountainous provinces: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Lang Son... The human and material losses are enormous; thousands of households are isolated, tens of thousands of people are living in misery, surrounded by floodwaters, students cannot go to school.

Accordingly, on September 18, the working group led by Cong Thuong Newspaper in coordination with Phan Business Club and friends and benefactors visited Lao Cai - one of the provinces most severely affected by the recent storm No. 3 to visit, encourage, support and share with families affected by storms and floods.
At the ceremony to receive relief goods at the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province, Ms. Do Thi Nga - representative of the Working Group of Cong Thuong Newspaper shared: With the spirit of "mutual love", implementing the program launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to support flood victims, with the spirit of "highest and fastest" support for families affected by storms and floods, on September 12, Cong Thuong Newspaper officially launched the program "Joining hands to support flood victims" to collect donations and support students in highland areas to return to school soon, helping families affected by floods to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives soon.

Immediately after launching the Program, many businesses and individuals participated in supporting the program of Cong Thuong Newspaper with many artifacts, necessities, food, household items... to support people in flood-hit areas. And on September 12, through the Program launched by Cong Thuong Newspaper, a business sent its feelings of sharing and supporting people in flood-hit areas in communes in Simacai and Bao Yen districts (Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune), supporting goods including: 100 barrels of water, 150 barrels of milk, 100 barrels of bread, 100 pairs of boots (worth about 200 million VND)... Practical contributions from the business community, benefactors and people supporting people in the northern mountainous provinces were delivered directly to the people by the Social Work Delegation of Cong Thuong Newspaper.
“Once again, today, the delegation of Cong Thuong Newspaper together with Phan Business Club and friends and benefactors continued to come to Lao Cai and directly to Bao Yen district with many essential goods (including 500 kg of rice, 200 boxes of instant noodles, 300 sets of clothes, 200 tulle curtains and 20 million VND in cash and many other items) to share some of the difficulties with the people in the area. Hopefully, the people of Lao Cai will soon have the confidence to overcome the difficulties to stabilize their lives soon” – Ms. Nga shared.

Expressing his feelings at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Quoc Vuong - Vice President of the Phan Business Club and Friends: "In the past few days, Lao Cai has experienced great losses due to storms and floods. Coming to Lao Cai today, we are truly moved. Through the launching program of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, the Phan Business Club and Friends has mobilized the solidarity of club members, pooling a small amount of strength with the hope of handing it directly to people in the storm and flood areas."
“In the past time, the club has always focused on charity activities and has implemented many practical and meaningful programs. Through today's program, promoting the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of the Vietnamese people, we hope to spread more meaningful work to more people and hope that it will somehow add more motivation for Lao Cai people to overcome the difficulties caused by the storm" - Mr. Vuong expressed.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the quantity of goods received from the Working Group will be gathered by the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and distributed to districts in need of necessities. The distribution will be carried out evenly by the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and prioritized first, more for areas with many difficulties. In order to support the people as quickly and promptly as possible, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee always maintains regular contact with the Fatherland Front Committees of the districts, and at the same time mobilizes all support forces to be ready to transport goods to all places for the people.
Immediately after presenting gifts at the Fatherland Front Committee, the working delegation also went directly to Bat village, Yen Son commune, Bao Yen district to present gifts to families that suffered the most damage from the recent storm No. 3 to share and encourage the families to overcome the difficulties of natural disasters.

Previously, on September 14, the delegation of Cong Thuong Newspaper also visited and presented gifts in Luc Yen (Yen Bai)... a place heavily affected by flash floods and landslides to encourage, support and share with families affected by storms and floods.
