On January 30, in Do Luong district, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, and the Nghe An Journalists Association organized the opening ceremony of the 2024 Spring Giap Thin Press Festival.

Mr. Tran Minh Ngoc, Chairman of Nghe An Journalists Association, said that the Spring Press Festival is a spiritual and cultural activity that has become an annual traditional beauty, an opportunity to continue affirming the innovative achievements of Nghe An press and the press of the whole country.

This is also a place for journalists to meet and exchange with the public, connecting the press, local authorities and businesses; creating conditions for people to enjoy the dedicated, creative and attractive press products of the press team.

In 2023, press activities in Nghe An province faced many difficulties and challenges, but press agencies made efforts to overcome and adapt to excellently complete their assigned tasks. Nghe An press informed and reflected comprehensively and promptly important political events of the country, the province as well as the activities of Central leaders in Nghe An.

The press provides full and accurate information on complex and sensitive issues occurring in the area; propagates and reflects clearly the socio-economic management solutions of the province, departments, branches and localities; foreign affairs activities, promoting the image of Nghe An country and people to the whole country and the world.

In addition, 2023 is also a year that recognizes the provincial press agencies and many resident press agencies in the area have devoted a lot of time, written many profound articles and images, contributing to the socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security of the province. The coordination in orientation, direction, and gathering of the press team of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, and the Journalists Association is increasingly synchronous and effective.

Press agencies, reporters and journalists in the area also actively contribute to humanitarian charity activities, perform well the role of social supervision and criticism, resolutely fight against corruption, waste and negative acts; discover and encourage new factors, advanced models; refute the wrong viewpoints and arguments of hostile forces, contribute to protecting the Party's ideological foundation, strengthen trust in the Party and the government, and create consensus among the people. Many members of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association have won high prizes at national press awards, press awards of central ministries, branches and the province.

However, the Chairman of the Nghe An Journalists Association noted that in the context of strong transformation of digital technology, with increasingly high requirements and great responsibilities, the team of journalists and press agencies in the area must make more efforts, pioneering in digital transformation, innovating management and production processes, improving the quality of the team in terms of expertise, professionalism and training political qualities and cultivating ethics.

The press needs to continue to affirm its role and position in leading and orienting public opinion, actively promoting and encouraging typical new factors, contributing with the Party Committee and people of the whole province to successfully implement the Politburo's resolution on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

With the theme “Celebrating the Party, celebrating Spring, celebrating the country, and the renewed homeland”, this year’s press conference has 11 booths displaying and introducing the 2024 Spring newspapers of central, industry, and local Party newspapers nationwide. In addition, the press conference also dedicates space to display and introduce OCOP products of Do Luong district.

In addition, the organizing committee also gave gifts to families with difficult circumstances in Do Luong district; handed over Spring newspaper publications to the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument in Vinh City to organize a Tet newspaper display booth to serve the people and tourists.
