After the last update in June 2023, the Vietnamese women's team played 6 matches. Huynh Nhu and her teammates faced strong opponents such as Germany, New Zealand, Spain, the US, Portugal and the Netherlands. The Vietnamese women's team lost all 6 matches mentioned above.

Despite the drop in rankings, Vietnam still leads Southeast Asia. Thailand lost second place to the Philippines. Coach Alen Stajcic's team was eliminated from the 2023 Women's World Cup but still gained points. The win over New Zealand helped the defending Southeast Asian champions gain 29.8 points. Meanwhile, two losses to Switzerland and Norway only cost them a total of 9.98 points.
The Vietnamese women's team returned home on August 3. The team will rest for a week before returning to training. The next tournament for the Vietnamese team is the 19th ASIAD (held in Hangzhou, China). At this tournament, the Vietnamese women's team is in Group D with Japan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Of these, the Japanese team is the biggest challenge for coach Mai Duc Chung and his team.
Bangladesh and Nepal are two teams that are not highly rated. In April 2023, the Vietnamese women's team also won both the home and away matches against the Nepal team in the first qualifying round of the women's football event for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 19th ASIAD women's football competition includes 17 teams, divided into 5 groups. There are three groups of 3 teams and two groups of 4 teams. The organizing committee will select the 5 first-place teams and 3 second-place teams with the best results to advance to the quarter-finals.
