Vietnam women's team dropped 4 places in the latest FIFA rankings after the 2023 Women's World Cup.

The Vietnamese women's team dropped 4 places in the FIFA rankings in August, from 32nd to 36th. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team were deducted 29.4 points after 3 losses in the 2023 Women's World Cup as well as friendly matches before the tournament.

After the last update in June 2023, the Vietnamese women's team played 6 matches. Huynh Nhu and her teammates faced strong opponents such as Germany, New Zealand, Spain, the US, Portugal and the Netherlands. The Vietnamese women's team lost all 6 matches mentioned above.

Vietnam team will be relegated after World Cup 2023.

Despite the drop in rankings, Vietnam still leads Southeast Asia. Thailand lost second place to the Philippines. Coach Alen Stajcic's team was eliminated from the 2023 Women's World Cup but still gained points. The win over New Zealand helped the defending Southeast Asian champions gain 29.8 points.
