On the morning of July 26, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (SC 389/DP) held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

According to the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP, since the beginning of the year, the situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the area has tended to decrease, but there are still potential complications. The functional forces have inspected and detected 999 cases with 1,109 violators; the total amount of fines collected to the state budget is 19,961,134,000 VND and many illegal goods and exhibits have been confiscated. In addition, the member departments of the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP have received reports of crimes from the people through the hotline system, investigated and clarified 10 violations, and fined and collected 196,500,000 VND to the state budget. The timely intervention of the functional agencies has prevented smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods circulating in the market, contributing to protecting consumer rights and stabilizing the market.

The Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP assessed that in the last months of the year, the market will be bustling, the circulation of goods will increase rapidly with many types of essential goods, creating opportunities for smugglers, commercial fraudsters and counterfeiters to operate. To ensure supply and demand balance, stabilize the market, and protect consumer rights, the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP directed its member sectors to focus on implementing 8 key tasks, including proactively developing and effectively implementing a peak plan to combat smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025. Strictly control prohibited and essential goods that affect security, order and social safety, and combat speculation, hoarding, hoarding, and illegal price increases that cause market instability. Authorities need to step up the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, and protect consumers in the e-commerce environment.
