Accordingly, the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 will be held nationwide from April 15 to May 2, with the opening ceremony scheduled to take place on April 17 in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is an annual event to affirm the role of books in social life, promote the development of reading culture and improve community knowledge.

Pursuant to Decision No. 1862/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has implemented a plan to organize Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 with the goal of encouraging reading habits in families, schools and communities, while honoring individuals and organizations that have made important contributions to the development of reading culture.

Organizing this event not only contributes to building a system of cultural values ​​but also demonstrates the strength of Vietnamese people in the new era.

Activities within the framework of the event will include a book festival with many rich programs such as: book exhibition and introduction; exchange and discussion with authors; storytelling, painting, artistic book arrangement; organizing space to introduce books of publishers; book signing program, donation and exchange of old books for new books.

Along with that are reading promotion activities, reading skills guidance, helping readers improve their ability to search, exploit and use information.

A special highlight of this year’s Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is the thematic seminars on reading trends in the digital age. The event will create opportunities for participants to learn about e-books, audiobooks, interactive books, and new technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality.

In addition, online book clubs will also be organized, helping to connect readers across the country through online platforms such as Zoom, Skype, Google Meet...

Communication activities will be stepped up to promote and honor individuals and organizations that have made important contributions to reading culture. Through the press, media and social networks, the event promises to strongly spread the value of books, contributing to connecting readers at home and abroad, while encouraging the spirit of learning and creativity in the community.

With meaningful messages such as "Reading culture - Connecting the community", "Entering the era of national growth with books", "Reading books - Enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity", this year's event is not only a festival for book lovers but also an important step in building and developing a reading culture in Vietnam.
