On the evening of January 5, in Hanoi, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front attended and presented the second national press award on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong award) - 2024.
At the award ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, Head of the Dien Hong Award Organizing Committee, said that just 6 months after the first season, the Organizing Committee received 2,679 quality entries from 138 press agencies at both central and local levels with many discoveries, creativity, and appeal, which were well received and highly appreciated by readers.
The preliminary and final judging panels decided to select 79 works to award prizes, including 7 A prizes, 14 B prizes, 20 C prizes and 38 consolation prizes.
The Organizing Committee also decided to award certificates of merit to 15 units with outstanding achievements in participating in the 2nd Dien Hong tournament.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the 15th National Assembly has been and is continuing to make efforts to innovate and improve the quality of its operations and has achieved many important and comprehensive results in terms of legislation, supreme supervision and decision-making on important national issues.
At the local level, the activities of People's Councils at all levels are also increasingly innovated to be more practical and effective.
The National Assembly leaders hope that press agencies and journalists will continue to promote their sense of responsibility, dedication, love for the profession, trust and affection for the people's representative agencies; proactively propagate and mobilize in a comprehensive, timely and effective manner to bring the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws into life; and make increasingly greater contributions to building a more effective and efficient National Assembly and People's Council, worthy of the trust of voters and people.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly expressed his belief that the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels will continue to receive active support from central and local press agencies.
"Journalists will have new research, discoveries and creativity to write about the National Assembly and People's Councils; continue to affirm their role as a bridge between the "Party's will" and the "people's heart", and be a forum for people of all walks of life to contribute their enthusiasm and intelligence to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; create positive spillovers, encourage the spirit of solidarity, aspiration, self-reliance, self-reliance and creativity among the people to build a prosperous and happy country," said Mr. Man.
The leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly and Government also awarded A, B, C and consolation prizes to authors and groups of authors.
Secretary General and Head of the Office of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong launched the 3rd Dien Hong Award - 2025. Accordingly, the works participating in the award will be published and broadcast from December 6, 2023 to November 5, 2024.
