In the letter sent to medical staff on February 27, 1955, Uncle Ho advised three important things: “We must be honest, united, and love the sick; we must practice being a good doctor like a mother; we must build our medical system based on the principles of nation - science - mass; we must focus on research, combining Eastern and Western medicine”… Over the past 70 years, Uncle Ho’s advice has been the guiding light for generations of medical staff in the homeland of Hai Thuong Lan Ong - Le Huu Trac to mature, be good at medical skills, have bright medical ethics, and have won the trust and love of the people.

Over the years, the Ha Tinh health sector has built a strong health system, ensuring that all people have access to quality, safe and effective health services right at the grassroots level. Up to now, in addition to the provincial health system, many district-level hospitals have mastered many advanced techniques, many new and difficult techniques, contributing to reducing the burden on upper-level hospitals, meeting the medical needs of local people.

The work of disease prevention and control and health target programs has been focused on by the sector and achieved many important results, which are among the bright spots highly appreciated by the Ministry of Health. Notably, the province's infectious disease surveillance system has been operating effectively, especially in the prevention of Covid 19, becoming a bright spot for many units nationwide to learn from in disease prevention.
During the 70-year development journey, Ha Tinh's health sector has achieved many outstanding results, especially in terms of infrastructure, health network, and quality of medical examination and treatment. If in 2015 the whole province only had 18.8 hospital beds/ten thousand people, 7.4 doctors/ten thousand people, by the end of 2024 it had increased to 31.5 hospital beds/ten thousand people; 11.6 doctors/ten thousand people. The whole province has 6 general and specialized hospitals at the provincial level; 11 3-function district-level medical centers, 01 2-function medical center and 02 general hospitals; 209 commune, ward and town health stations; 90% of commune health stations have doctors.... The achieved results have created momentum for Ha Tinh's health sector to achieve the goals of 2025 and the following years.
Proud of the glorious tradition of the past 70 years, Uncle Ho's profound teachings will forever be the guiding light for generations of cadres and employees of the Ha Tinh Health sector to continue to study, cultivate, and constantly strive to improve their virtues and talents with the motto: Medical ethics must be bright - Medical theory must be profound - Medical skills must be sharp, worthy of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings "A good doctor must be like a mother".
