67 journalistic works were awarded the first Dien Hong Prize

On the evening of June 9, in Hanoi, the first National Press Awards Ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Awards) took place.

Attending the event were former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, President Vo Van Thuong, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; Politburo members Tran Thanh Man, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Head of the Steering Committee of the Award; Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Also attending were comrades Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Award's Final Jury; Bui Van Cuong, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office, Head of the Award's Organizing Committee...; along with leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, representatives of ministries, departments, branches and localities.

The award is chaired by the Office of the National Assembly, in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television, with the aim of promoting information and propaganda work on the organization and operation of the National Assembly and People's Councils on mass media, enhancing the understanding of the people and voters nationwide about the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils, thereby creating social consensus for the decisions of the National Assembly and People's Councils, contributing to further improving the quality and effectiveness of the operations of elected bodies.

Express your opinion At the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that one of the great sources of encouragement, contributing to enhancing the position, strength and prestige of the National Assembly and People's Councils over the past many years is the comprehensive, persistent and creative contribution of the country's press.

The National Assembly Chairman said that to recognize and honor the important contributions of the country's press and the tireless efforts of professional and non-professional writers to the National Assembly and People's Councils, the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly decided to organize the annual National Press Award for the National Assembly and People's Councils called the Dien Hong Award.

After more than 4 months of launching, the first Dien Hong Award received 3,328 press works from 171 domestic and international press agencies, 7 Offices of National Assembly Delegations and People's Councils.

In the spirit of working responsibly, impartially and objectively, Final Jury 67 excellent works were selected to award the first Dien Hong Prize.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the entries were all carefully invested, rich in topics, sophisticated in content, large in scale, diverse in style and modern in means of journalism. Among them, many journalistic works with exploration, breakthrough, novelty, creativity and appeal were well received and highly appreciated by readers.

The National Assembly Chairman also expressed his hope that from the glorious tradition, with the support and assistance of Party committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, organizations at all levels and the people, the country's revolutionary press will develop continuously, continue to make increasingly important and greater contributions to building a comprehensively developed National Assembly and People's Council, worthy of the trust and entrustment of the people.

The National Assembly Chairman also expressed his hope that the Award will continue to receive great consensus and support, opening up new horizons of exploration, discovery and creativity for the press system and writers at home and abroad writing about the Vietnamese National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 A prizes, 13 B prizes, 16 C prizes, 31 Encouragement prizes and 2 extra prizes to outstanding authors and groups of authors.

The Organizing Committee also awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chief of the National Assembly Office to 20 collectives with outstanding achievements and important contributions to the success of the Award, including the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center.

On this occasion, Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Head of the Steering Committee of the Award launched the second Dien Hong Award - 2024.

The second Dien Hong Award ceremony is expected to take place in early January 2024, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2024).
