After more than a decade of working in journalism, 2023 was the year that left the deepest impression on my journey to find words when for the first time my work won the first National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Council (Dien Hong Award). That honor and recognition further motivated me to strive to devote myself, train myself to overcome difficulties, and continue to contribute to the journalism career.
I was very surprised and touched when the 3-part series "Bridge" between the Party's will and the people's heart was honored as one of the 67 best journalistic works honored at the Award Ceremony held recently at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi). Although it was the first year, the Dien Hong Award attracted more than 3,300 journalistic works from a large number of journalists from news agencies across the country, which is a clear demonstration of the attraction and widespread influence of the award.
According to the evaluation of the Judging Council, this is a quality award, and will be an important press award in the system of revolutionary press awards in our country. The works selected for the Dien Hong Award are invested in carefully, scientifically, and have quality, demonstrating their caliber in both content and form; including works that are multi-part series, using modern propaganda forms. The content of the works vividly reflects the theme of the Dien Hong Award; many works closely follow the process of improving and innovating the organization and operation of the National Assembly and People's Councils, closely follow the breath of life, reflect the thoughts and aspirations of voters and people, propose suggestions to improve the quality and effectiveness of the activities of elected bodies; highlight the position and role of the National Assembly and People's Councils, focus on reflecting the activities of the National Assembly delegation, National Assembly deputies, and People's Council deputies, having a strong influence on society and the public.
When I learned about the Dien Hong Award, I was particularly interested because this is one of the important press awards in the revolutionary press award system of our country. I carefully selected my propaganda works about the National Assembly to submit to the contest. I decided to submit the series of articles "Bridge" between the Party's will and the people's hearts to participate in the contest because the content comprehensively reflects the activities of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Thuan province. With responsibility, intelligence, and enthusiasm, the Delegation has proactively innovated in voter contact activities, diversifying forms, objects, locations, and fields of contact, getting closer to the people, listening, and worrying about the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of voters. The Delegation has strengthened the supervision activities, the National Assembly Deputies participate with a high sense of responsibility, focusing on issues of concern to voters; thereby absorbing and promptly conveying them to the Party and the State. The activities of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Thuan province in recent times have been assessed as truly being a "bridge" between the Party, State, Government and the people, between the National Assembly and voters, worthy of the voters' trust...
The series of articles has contributed to spreading the spirit of innovation and drastic action for the People of the National Assembly, not only the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Thuan province but also the National Assembly Delegation of other provinces and cities in the country in particular, and elected bodies in general, all share the same responsibility, intelligence and enthusiasm. And that is vivid material for the press to exploit. Therefore, I believe that the National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils - Dien Hong Award will grow stronger and stronger. At the same time, through this award, my colleagues and I will pay more attention, reflect more deeply and in-depth on topics in the National Assembly and People's Councils; closely follow the breath of life, reflect the thoughts and aspirations of voters and people, propose and contribute ideas to improve the quality and effectiveness of the activities of elected bodies in the locality...
As one of the few reporters of the local Party newspaper to win the Dien Hong Award, this is a source of happiness and great encouragement for me to continue to strive for the journalism career that I am passionate about and have chosen to pursue. In addition to the joy, this award also motivates me to write better quality articles as the message of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue at the Award Ceremony said: “I believe that the country's revolutionary press will continue to develop continuously, continue to make increasingly important and greater contributions to building a comprehensively developed National Assembly and People's Council, worthy of the trust and entrustment of the people. All beginnings are difficult! From the success of the first Dien Hong Award, with the spirit of "Dien Hong", "thousands of people shouting together", I hope that the award will continue to open up horizons of exploration, discovery, and creativity at a new level for the press system, for writers at home and abroad writing about the Vietnamese National Assembly and People's Councils...".
Speaking at a press meeting on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023) recently, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his hope that the entire team of journalists will continue to fully and deeply grasp the viewpoint that the press is a sharp weapon, an effective tool of the Party, the voice of the State and a large and strong forum of the People on the ideological, political and cultural front, through the exploration, discovery and creativity of loyal, honest and humane historians, through excellent journalistic works, contributing to the fight to eliminate the wrong and the bad, to protect the right and the good, for the common cause of the country and the People...
On the occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the National Assembly Chairman wished journalists to always keep the flame of enthusiasm in their hearts, continue to make more contributions to the noble career they have chosen, always worthy of being "revolutionary soldiers" as Uncle Ho once advised and expected; hoped that veteran journalists would continue to guide and pass on the passion of the profession with the spirit of "bright eyes, pure heart, sharp pen" to the next generations of journalists to confidently and steadfastly accompany the Party, the People and the country...
