31 football teams compete in the first Tho Xuan District Youth Football Tournament

On the morning of May 20, Tho Xuan District Youth Union held the opening ceremony of the first Tho Xuan District Youth Football Tournament - competing for the Lam Son Cup in 2023.

The organizers awarded souvenir flags to the participating teams.

The tournament has more than 600 athletes from 31 teams from 30 communes, towns and the District Police. The teams are divided into 8 groups, playing a round robin to calculate points. The first and second teams in each group will advance to the round of 16. The matches of the tournament are applied to the 7-a-side football rules of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training. More than 600 athletes from 31 teams competed in the tournament.

The tournament was held for the first time with the support of businesses and sponsors. The organizing committee also coordinated and created conditions for the tournament to take place in an exciting and safe manner, in the spirit of noble sportsmanship, attracting a large number of youth union members and people from all walks of life to watch and cheer for the matches of the tournament.

Tho Xuan District Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Thi Bich Phuong, Head of the Organizing Committee, delivered the opening speech.

After the opening ceremony, the teams will compete in the group stage. The organizing committee will award the championship cup, flags, medals, and prizes to the champion, second place, third place, and style teams, as well as individual prizes including the player with the most goals and the best goalkeeper of the tournament.

The organizers gave gifts to thank the sponsors of the tournament.

The first Tho Xuan District Youth Football Tournament - Lam Son Cup 2023 is a practical activity towards the 93rd anniversary of the founding of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee (July 29, 1930 - July 29, 2023) and the 93rd anniversary of the founding of Tho Xuan District Party Committee (July 22, 1930 - July 22, 2023). The tournament is also a useful and practical playground contributing to promoting the football movement among young people in particular, and the sports movement of Tho Xuan District in general to continuously develop.

The tournament will end on July 2 with the final match and the closing ceremony and award ceremony. It is known that starting from 2023, the Tho Xuan District Youth Football Tournament will be held annually, becoming a traditional sports playground for the youth of Tho Xuan District.
