Rally in response to Global Handwashing Day with Soap 2024
The activity in response to World Handwashing Day with soap was organized by the Ministry of Health in coordination with the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the Vietnam Women's Union, and Unilever Vietnam International Company Limited.
The importance of washing hands with soap
Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong emphasized that hygiene and hand washing with soap are very important in disease prevention and control in the community as well as infection prevention and control.
She emphasized the communication purpose of handwashing with soap to the whole community when choosing the topic "Handwashing with soap - Why is it important". Since Call on all levels and sectors to coordinate more to ensure hand hygiene goals, and take action to spread the habit of regular hand hygiene everywhere to contribute to disease prevention and control.

The Ministry of Health recommends that relevant units continue to promote communication to raise awareness of the benefits and effectiveness of hand washing with soap in disease prevention and control. Especially hygiene education activities, hand washing with soap in schools.
It is necessary to ensure the provision and arrangement of adequate hand washing facilities, clean water, and soap so that everyone has the conditions to practice hand washing regularly. On the other hand, it is necessary to have solutions to provide enough clean water for daily life, adapting to climate change conditions, natural disasters such as storms, floods, droughts, and saltwater intrusion.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, called on all people, parents and students in the city to voluntarily implement hygiene measures according to the instructions. From the specific actions of each person with the motto "clean food, clean living, clean hands and clean toys" will contribute to joining hands with the government and the health sector to push back diseases, especially infectious diseases.
The program highlights the message: Wash hands with soap for future generations, prevent infectious diseases.

The campaign to build "5 no 3 clean" families and "5 yes 3 clean" families implemented by the association at all levels over the past years has achieved many successes. The "3 clean" criteria of the campaign have created a widespread influence, attracted attention, and become criteria in the National Target Program on new rural construction.

"3 clean family - starting with hand washing with soap" is the most practical practice model of the Vietnam Women's Union at all levels participating in responding to Global Handwashing Day with Soap in 2024.
