Hoa Minzy's MV Bac Bling is "making waves" on social networks and was unexpectedly included in the 12th grade Literature exam of Nguyen Duc Canh High School, Thai Binh.

Nguyen Duc Canh High School, Thai Binh recently organized a mid-term test for students of grade 12 for the 2024-2025 school year. The special thing in this test mentioned the MV Bac Bling by Hoa Minzy, which has been causing a fever recently.

Specifically, the test lasts 90 minutes, students do 2 parts: Reading and Writing. The Writing part has the following content:

"In recent days, the MV 'Bac Bling' by singer Hoa Minzy has caused a fever on social networking platforms. "The MV has become a hot topic after nearly a week of release, and is also the video that has created the best effect in the Vietnamese music industry since the beginning of the year. Not only attracting the interest of Bac Ninh people, on social networks, many audiences in other regions said they suddenly fell in love with the land and people of Kinh Bac and the three regions of the North, Central and South when watching the project" . Speaking with Dan Viet newspaper reporter, Mr. Bui Tuan Anh, principal of Nguyen Duc Canh High School, also confirmed that this test was organized for 12th grade students and that the school's students are currently taking the 2nd mid-term test.

Dr. Pham Thi Huong Quynh, Institute of Linguistics (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) commented: "This Literature test is quite suitable for students in general. The 5 questions in the reading comprehension section ensure the levels of recognition, understanding, low application, and high application. To answer these questions well, students must also have a firm grasp of the characteristics of the lyrical poetry genre as well as the ability to appreciate literature.

The most interesting part of the exam was the Writing section, with a social argumentation question. The essay took a very prominent phenomenon in society, the song Bac Bling by Hoa Minzy, to discuss love for the Fatherland. In fact, any social phenomenon that young people are interested in will also arouse interest in students.

From that phenomenon, you will think about something deeper, which is the attitude towards traditional values ​​of the nation and love for the country from simple things. So there is a connection between the emerging phenomenon in life and noble values. This is also a way to help young people expand their awareness. Before phenomena called trends, what is the true value and what is just a temporary trend. You need to clearly perceive and have the right attitude in life."

Mr. Trinh Phu Son, a Literature teacher at IVS High School, Hanoi, also commented: "I think the level of knowledge in the exam is suitable for students. In part 1, the midterm exam ensures that students recognize and exploit the artistic elements and content in literary works. This is very necessary and especially for 12th grade students because reading comprehension is not a single skill. To be able to understand correctly and fully understand the meaning of a verse or a poem, students must apply a lot of knowledge from language style, expression methods, rhetorical devices to the context of the poem's creation. This will be a very important skill for students to apply in communication and in future work.

In particular, I think that putting the MV Bac Bling in the exam is very good because in the teaching process, approaching students and leading them to the content that teachers want to convey is very important. In my long-term teaching process, I have realized that in order for students to be able to access knowledge, connecting with real-life content and phenomena is very necessary.

Putting trends into the exam is an approach that stimulates learners to associate with the knowledge content. With the explosion of information technology like today, students' concepts and thoughts are changed and affected a lot. Teachers and educators themselves should have a close and in-tune approach with young people. Thus, the transmission of knowledge will become easier and deeply ingrained in students' minds."
