On the afternoon of April 10, the Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the conclusion of the meeting with parents of AISVN International School on April 8.
AISVN International School publicly discloses parents' financial contributions until the end of the school year
Previously, on April 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City - chaired a meeting with parents of the American International School Vietnam Primary, Secondary and High School (AISVN International School) at this department.
After listening to the opinions of the parents representing the parent group of AISVN International School and the report of Mr. Tran Khac Huy - Head of the Financial Planning Department of the Department of Education and Training, the Director of the Department of Education and Training concluded for relevant units and individuals to know and implement.
Accordingly, assign specialized departments under the Department of Education and Training to discuss with the principal to develop a plan for classroom organization structure, ensuring the rights of students. Continue to advise and propose solutions to issues related to the organization of educational activities at AISVN International School according to regulations.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requires American International Education Joint Stock Company and AISVN International School to publicly disclose parents' financial contributions, send thank you letters and the school's educational activity plan until the end of the 2023-2024 school year via email to parents.
At the same time, confirm the funds contributed by parents to support the school's educational activities until the end of this school year, and commit to repay after restructuring the American International Education Joint Stock Company.
Schools must develop online teaching plans in the event that the funding contributed by parents to support operations is not enough to organize in-person educational activities until the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
The school owner commits to refund and exchange shares of the money contributed by parents.
Updated to 9:00 a.m. on April 10, the bank account jointly owned by the Department of Education and Training - the school and supervised by representatives of the students' parents recorded a total of 29.6 billion VND in support revenue and other fees.
Yesterday afternoon, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Em - chairwoman of the AISVN International School Board - also sent a thank you letter to the school's parents.
In the letter, Ms. Ut Em expressed her deep gratitude to the parents and thanked them for all their noble gestures, and pledged to strive to find the most feasible solutions and be ready to welcome suitable investors to build AISVN International School to develop further.
"Up to now, we have recorded many valuable contributions from parents. All contributions from parents will be monitored by the interdisciplinary working group and parent representatives for synthesis, management, and co-payment for the school's teaching activities as well as publicized on the bulletin board.
When the school implements the restructuring plan, this amount will be refunded or converted into shares. The original confirmation of your contribution will be sent to you as soon as possible," the letter said.
Many teachers will leave Vietnam at the end of this school year.
Also yesterday afternoon, the AISVN International School high school office also sent a letter to grade 11 parents.
In the letter, the school’s secondary leadership team pledged to support students in completing Grade 11 and earning course credit for all work they have done this year. To achieve that goal, it is important that students keep up with the work assigned by their teachers and especially with the International Baccalaureate (IB) assessments.
“Regarding next year, at this time we do not have any confirmation from the board about the school model. We are aware that many teachers will be leaving Vietnam at the end of this academic year. Our handover procedures remain the same as always and will ensure all curriculum materials and assessment data are retained and ready for use next year,” the letter read.
