The security research team at McAfee has just discovered a series of software containing the Xamalicious malware. Notably, these malicious applications have existed on the Google Play app store for a long time and attracted hundreds of thousands of downloads.

- Logo Maker Pro
- Auto Click Repeater
- Count Easy Calorie Calculator
- Sound Volume Extender
- LetterLink
- NUMEROLOGY: PERSONAL HOROSCOPE & NUMBER PREDICTIONS
- Step Keeper: Easy Pedometer
- Track Your Sleep
- Sound Volume Booster
- Astrological Navigator: Daily Horoscope & Tarot
- Universal Calculator
"This malware can remain active for a long time without being detected. The attacker can control the device through a remote server," experts at McAfee warned.
Not stopping there, the malware also allows criminals to perform many fraudulent acts such as automatically clicking on ads, remotely installing applications or attacking user accounts.
Recently, security experts have continuously discovered a series of malware on the Android platform. Using many different tricks, these malicious applications have bypassed Google's censorship system and appeared widely on this application store.
