Standing Deputy Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee Hoang Van Nghiem assessed that the People's Border Defense Day for the period of 2019-2024 has been closely led and directed by all levels and sectors of the province, implemented with high responsibility and determination, bringing positive results. The People's Border Defense Day has become a widespread movement for the whole people, directing all feelings and responsibilities towards the people and soldiers at the border.

Through the implementation of the National Border Guard Day, Lang Son province has drawn many valuable experiences from practice, new factors, new models, effective methods have emerged, typically: National Border Guard Festival; building roads to inspect landmarks, protect the border; building practical works and tasks to serve people's lives, building rural roads, giving livestock, crops and guiding people in production and cultivation; organizing medical examinations and treatment, providing free medicine to people..., promoting the combined strength to manage and protect the national border.

Colonel Trinh Huu Tang, Political Commissar of Lang Son Border Guard, said: In implementing the movement of All People participating in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security, over the past 5 years, the provincial Border Guard has effectively coordinated with Party committees and authorities of border communes and towns to propagate and mobilize 24 collectives and 885 households living on the border to sign the border section and landmarks to coordinate in managing and protecting the border.

In the work of building a peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative and developing border, the sectors, functional forces, border districts and Lang Son city have effectively carried out foreign affairs work with the Party committees, authorities and functional forces of China. In addition, the units have established twinned residential clusters on both sides of the border with 11 pairs (9 pairs of villages-villages, 2 pairs of communes-towns); deployed the Model Border Gate model at the Huu Nghi-Huu Nghi Quan International Border Gate pair; upgraded the Chi Ma-Ai Diem bilateral border gate pair; promoted administrative procedure reform, applied information technology in controlling entry and exit, import and export, effectively implemented the digital border gate platform.

In carrying out a special campaign to support the construction of border marker inspection roads and border protection, the whole Lang Son province responded strongly, supporting a large amount of funding and construction materials. The ethnic minorities in the border areas and officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Stations participated in the labor day, with more than 26,000 people. By the end of 2023, the total amount of socialized funds, the provincial budget, construction materials and labor days converted into money was worth more than 35 billion VND; 271 border marker inspection roads with a total length of more than 50km were built.

Border marker inspection and protection roads are meaningful and practical works in border management and protection; creating favorable conditions for people in border villages and hamlets to travel, cultivate, produce, develop the economy, and improve their lives.

On this occasion, the Border Guard Command, the People's Committee of Lang Son province and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and 26 individuals with achievements in implementing the National Border Guard Day, period 2019-2024 and the special campaign to support the construction of border marker inspection roads, protecting the border of Lang Son province.
