Keeping the customs code, Customs Branch Region II has 9 new units

The Customs Sub-Department of Region II (formerly Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department) has 9 customs units at and outside the new border gates, still keeping the same customs code. Enterprises need to pay attention to facilitate customs clearance of goods.

The Customs Sub-Department of Region II has just issued a notice and instructions to import-export enterprises, customs clearance agents, postal and express delivery service providers, duty-free goods businesses, warehouses, ports, and customs declaration software businesses about the names of 9 customs units in Ho Chi Minh City according to the new organizational model from March 15.

Accordingly, the Customs for investment goods management is merged from the High-Tech Customs Branch and the High-Tech Park Customs.

Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone Customs is merged from Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone Customs Branch and Processing Goods Customs Branch.

Saigon Port Customs Area 2 is the new name of Hiep Phuoc Port Customs Branch.

Customs Express is the new name of the Customs Express Sub-Department.

Saigon Port Customs Area 1 is the new name of Saigon Port Customs Branch.

Saigon Port Customs Area 3 is the new name of Saigon Port Customs Area III.

Saigon Port Customs Area 4 is the new name of Saigon Port Customs Area IV.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs is the new name of Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch.

Linh Trung Export Processing Zone Customs is the new name of Linh Trung Export Processing Zone Customs Branch.

With 9 new units but keeping the same customs code, the Customs Sub-Department of Region II requested enterprises to change the name of the customs unit on the declaration software and software connecting to exchange information with the customs agency system.

The list of standard codes for customs declaration nationwide will change at some locations. Businesses need to look up and declare the correct codes to help the customs clearance process go smoothly.

From March 15, the Customs Branch of Region II implemented a new organizational model according to the decision of the Ministry of Finance, leading to changes in the names of many customs units in the area.

To implement the new model, the customs declaration system will be temporarily suspended from 11pm on March 14 to 5am on March 15 for updating. The Customs Sub-Department of Region II has notes for units to update the new changed declaration system, ensuring smooth customs clearance of goods.

More than 20,000 customs declarations on the first working day under the new organizational model

According to the Customs Department, on the first day of working under the new organizational model, the entire industry cleared goods smoothly, with 20,300 declarations processed, and the total import-export turnover reaching more than 1.05 billion USD.

According to the new organizational model, from March 15, the Customs Department includes 12 units under the agency, 20 regional customs branches (reducing 485/902 focal points, equivalent to 53.77%); organized and operated at 3 levels: Customs Department; Regional customs branches; Border gate/outside border gate customs.
