Binh Nguyen Commune (Thang Binh) celebrates 44 years of establishment

On September 23, 1981, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers issued Decision No. 79/QD-HDBT, approving the demarcation of the boundary separating Binh Nguyen commune to establish two new administrative units under Thang Binh district.

Accordingly, the villages of Lieu Tri, Lieu Thanh, Thanh Ly 1, Thanh Ly 2, zone 4, zone 5 Ha Lam and Chung Phuoc village were retained to establish Binh Nguyen commune. Separate zone 1, zone 2, zone 3 Ha Lam, Dong Thai village and zone 5 Thanh Ly village to establish Ha Lam town. By the end of 1984, zone 4, zone 5 Ha Lam and Chung Phuoc village were merged into Ha Lam town; Binh Nguyen commune had 4 villages: Lieu Tri, Lieu Thanh, Thanh Ly 1, Thanh Ly 2.

After completing the separation, Binh Nguyen commune's population was nearly 6,000 people, with 810 households. The administrative boundary of Binh Nguyen commune remained 4 villages: Lieu Thanh, Lieu Tri, Thanh Ly 1 and Thanh Ly 2.

After 44 years (1981 - 2025), with the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people, Binh Nguyen commune was recognized as meeting the standards of a new rural commune in 2019. Rural infrastructure has received attention for investment and construction; in the period of 2020 - 2025 alone, 43 works serving people's lives have been invested in such as: rural traffic, intra-field traffic, intra-field canals... with a total cost of more than 34 billion VND; thereby contributing to facilitating people's travel and production.

The total production value of economic sectors by 2025 is estimated to reach nearly 720 billion VND, the average growth rate for the 2020 - 2025 term is more than 11%/year; the economic structure of agriculture - forestry - fishery, industry - construction, trade - services is 14.6% - 42.2% - 43.2% respectively. The average income in 2025 is estimated to reach 61.4 million VND/person/year, an increase of 19.4 million VND/person/year compared to 2020; the poverty rate will decrease from 1.92% in 2020 to 1.61% in 2025...
