On September 23, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province announced that it had just issued a decision to administratively sanction Thien Hong Phuc Production, Trade and Service Company Limited - the unit that provided meals that caused nearly 100 workers to be hospitalized.
Accordingly, Thien Hong Phuc Company (Bac Son commune, Trang Bom district) was fined 180 million VND for violating food safety regulations.
Specifically, the company violated the regulations on processing, supplying and selling food that caused poisoning and affected the health of 5 or more people but did not reach the level of criminal prosecution.
In addition, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province decided to impose an additional penalty by suspending all food production, processing, trading and supply activities of the company for a period of 4 months.
At the same time, the company is required to bear all costs for handling food poisoning, examining and treating poisoned workers.
As reported, on the evening of May 15, 89 workers of Dechang Co., Ltd. (100% Chinese-Taiwanese capital, specializing in vacuum cleaner manufacturing) suffered from stomachaches, fatigue, nausea, and dizziness after eating their afternoon meal. Afterwards, these workers were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Through verification, the unit providing meals for Dechang Company is Thien Hong Phuc Company owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Sang (44 years old).
Accordingly, Thien Hong Phuc Company provided 1,120 dinner meals (Quang noodles) for workers of 5 production lines (in workshop 14, Dechang Company).
After workers from two production lines (about 400 people) had dinner, nearly 100 workers showed signs of food poisoning. Immediately, the company informed the workers from the remaining three lines not to eat the dinner.
