Human AI Vi An answers questions on livestream
With the theme "Future First" of the Mobile World Congress - MWC 2024 held in Barcelona, Viettel expressed its desire to commit to "technology from the heart" to develop sustainable networks, safe and reliable storage infrastructure and humane applications to serve people.
After the 2023 event talked about 5G acceleration and the new era of AI, this year the Global Mobile Association (GSMA), the organizer of MWC, looks at the downsides of technological development, instead of just growth and prosperity.
In an increasingly connected world, resource consumption and network performance, as well as the security of data sets, are becoming pressing issues. Likewise, as AI becomes a massive industry that could contribute $16 trillion to the global economy by 2030, according to GSMA estimates, organizations must consider the risks to user data.
At MWC 2024, Viettel will demonstrate its approach to these technological issues through four product groups: sustainable future network infrastructure; secure data storage and processing infrastructure; applications serving people and future vision products. The "Make in Vietnam" and "Made by Viettel" products cover the entire process from the network to the end user, many of which have proven their value in the global market.

Sustainable network infrastructure for the future
Viettel is one of the few telecommunications network operators and equipment manufacturers that owns everything from the core network to the base transceiver station, thus being able to bring the latest mobile generation to users in developing countries. The 5G ecosystem "Make in Vietnam", "Made by Viettel" demonstrated at MWC 2024 includes the 5G DFE chip product, one of the most complex components in the 5G ecosystem.
The 5G DFE chip controls all operations of the signal receiving/transmitting block and high-speed communication with other 5G processing blocks. The chip is fully designed by Viettel engineers, achieving the ability to calculate 1,000 billion calculations per second, with performance equivalent to the 5G chip of one of the top 10 semiconductor companies in the world that Viettel has used in the device, meeting the common 5G standard of 3GPP - the association of organizations developing protocols for mobile telecommunications.
Not stopping at traditional networks, Viettel uses automatic networks to optimize power usage, automatically correct errors, optimize network quality, and meet the need for sustainable energy use in the context of "Internet of Things" and increasingly expanding networks.

Efficient and secure storage and processing infrastructure
Notably, in the context that every business sector from finance to consumer goods has become a data war, Viettel brings to MWC the Viettel Cloud ecosystem, providing a comprehensive solution from infrastructure, platform, software to storage management services, while ensuring data security with the Security Center (SOC) system.
This is a security system for cloud computing layers developed by the highly specialized Viettel Cyber Security team, many times surpassing global technology companies, most recently at Pwn2Own 2023 in Toronto.
Even with a variety of solutions and security, entering the cloud computing market is not easy. More than 65% of the market share is currently in the hands of Amazon, Microsoft and Google, and even companies like IBM and Tencent only account for about 2%, according to statistics from Statista.
However, Viettel Cloud, one of the first complete cloud ecosystems owned by Vietnam, will continue to expand its investment scale to VND40,000 billion by 2030, with the mission of protecting national digital sovereignty - every business can store and process its data in secure infrastructure located in Vietnam.

Digital applications serving people
Based on network and cloud infrastructure, Viettel is also a developer of digital applications that address the needs of the majority of customers while using resources efficiently. Appearing at MWC 2024 are the Viettel Digital Finance platform (VDFP) and TV 360.
If VDFP is a platform that provides digital financial functions for a variety of users in the economy, including transactions in places without Internet - a feature that most digital financial applications both domestically and internationally do not currently support, then TV 360 is currently the most popular OTT TV application in Vietnam with more than 10 million regular users, also a product built on the Viettel Cloud platform, using Cloud Microservices architecture - small, independent services that can be connected to each other to form a large system, making it easy to expand according to demand.
Regarding AI - within the theme of this year's MWC, V-Space will be one of Viettel's AI products demonstrated at the event.
This tool will empower managers at different administrative levels to monitor information in many areas such as construction, transportation, agriculture;… facilitating data-driven and cross-sectoral decision making, minimizing manual reporting time.
