The 6th National Forum on Vietnamese Digital Technology Enterprises with the theme: “Mastering digital technology, mastering the digital transformation process of Vietnam with Vietnamese digital technology enterprises”, is an important event organized annually by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC); an opportunity for Party and State leaders and experts in the technology field to meet, negotiate and give important directions, encourage creativity and innovation in technology production in Vietnam.

Previously, on December 22, 2024, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, including the viewpoint of mastering technology and strategic technology mastery tasks. The birth of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo is a guideline and enlightenment for all industries, not only promoting and changing the nature of operations but also having a profound impact on the Vietnamese digital technology business community.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that the Fourth Industrial Revolution has created new opportunities and unique opportunities for Vietnam. Technology can effectively solve Vietnam's problems. Vietnam, with its own problems, is the market for technology enterprises to be born. Vietnam is also the cradle for Vietnamese technology enterprises to go global and solve global problems.

“Make in Vietnam means creating in Vietnam, designing in Vietnam, making in Vietnam, manufacturing in Vietnam and by Vietnamese enterprises. Make in Vietnam is a slogan for action. Make in Vietnam is a spirit, a spirit of self-reliance, a spirit of mastering applications and mastering technology, from mastering applications to mastering technology. Make in Vietnam will not only help Vietnam prosper but also help Vietnam have lasting peace because it contributes to the development of a strong defense and security industry to protect Vietnam. The “magic crossbow” protecting Vietnam can only be made by Vietnamese people” – Minister Nguyen Manh Hung clearly stated.

According to the Minister of Information and Communications, the goal of the Forum is to deliver messages from the Party, Government, and Prime Minister on developing Vietnamese technology enterprises to master digital technology, strategic technology, and propose to take on strategic tasks to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, entering the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.

According to the Minister of Information and Communications, Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation conveys the message of self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-reliance and national pride to promote Vietnamese intelligence.

“We master strategic technologies to master the digital transformation process in Vietnam. Only then can Vietnam develop sustainably,” the Minister of Information and Communications emphasized.

In particular, Resolution 57 directs core enterprises to undertake large, national key projects on digital transformation, and to assign core enterprises to master strategic technologies.

This is an arrow aimed at two targets: mastering the digital transformation process, mastering digital transformation technology and forming large technology enterprises of the country with international competitiveness.

“From now on, Vietnamese technology enterprises, especially large enterprises, must accept the Vietnamese mission and make Vietnam famous,” the Minister emphasized.

At the 6th National Forum on Vietnam Digital Technology Enterprises, many contents will be discussed, especially orientations, policies and development solutions in the coming period on the semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence to recommend the Vietnamese Government to build breakthrough institutions and policies to provide incentives, support, encouragement and call for the gathering of strength from the Government to society in the development of digital technology enterprises. The Forum will also propose research and mastery of digital technology to help accelerate the implementation of Vietnam's digital transformation revolution and bring Vietnam to a breakthrough in the new era.

The Forum program includes 1 High-level session presenting messages from the Party, Government and Prime Minister on the orientation to promote the development of Vietnam's digital technology industry, semiconductor industry, digital technology enterprises associated with mastering digital technology, mastering the digital transformation process in economic sectors, forming Vietnam's digital production method; 2 In-depth thematic discussions on the development of semiconductor industry, AI.

At the Forum, the Ministry of Information and Communications organized the Announcement and Award Ceremony of the 2024 Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Product Award to honor outstanding digital technology products that bring pride to Vietnamese intelligence.

Within the framework of the Forum, there will also be an exhibition area with nearly 40 booths for delegates to visit and experience directly the digital technology products and services Made in Vietnam by Vietnamese enterprises that own the technology and master the national digital transformation process.

Digital technology businesses are increasingly playing a key role in the economy.

According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, in 2024, the total revenue of the digital technology industry is estimated to reach 157.984 billion USD, an increase of 10.20% (compared to 2023). Vietnam's value in the total revenue of the digital technology industry is 31.8%, up from 21.35% in 2019; The total number of employees is 1.67 million, an increase of 67% compared to 2019; The whole industry has 73,788 operating enterprises, an increase of 10.12% (compared to 2023).

Vietnam is ranked in the top of the world: 2nd in the world in exporting smart mobile phones; 5th in the world in exporting computer components; 6th in the world in exporting computer equipment; 8th in the world in electronic components; 7th in the world in software outsourcing.
