On the morning of April 13, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law in collaboration with enterprises started the construction of a socialized dormitory in Long Phuoc Ward (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City). The project aims to provide accommodation for students when the third campus in Long Phuoc Ward comes into operation from the 2025-2026 school year.
The dormitory building is designed in a modern and convenient style on a land area of over 2,700m2 . Of which, phase 1 is 1,800m2 with 1 ground floor, 5 floors and 54 rooms. Each room has an area of 16-20m2 , with a capacity of 4-6 students. The room is designed like a miniature apartment with a kitchen, washing machine space, air conditioner, laundry service and sports field, parking area, canteen service for students who do not cook...
The project is expected to be completed and welcome the first batch of students around the end of September and fully operational around November this year.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Dr. Le Truong Son, Principal of the school, emphasized the importance of the project: "The construction of a new dormitory helps solve the urgent housing problem for students when the school's third campus is put into operation synchronously, especially for students from other provinces. At the same time, it contributes to creating a safe and comfortable living environment, providing maximum support for students during their study and training at the school."
The Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law said that currently, not many universities have been able to cooperate and socialize dormitory buildings for students. Therefore, this project can be considered a model that can be shared and replicated to have more social resources to contribute to the development of university facilities.
Previously, from 2024, the school put into use a dormitory with an area of 3,657 m2 in Binh Chieu Ward (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City). With a capacity of more than 900 accommodations, this is the first dormitory of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law since implementing autonomy. Currently, the school is coordinating with businesses to continue to build 3 more dormitories according to the socialized model.
