Báo Dân trí•19/07/2024
Vietnam and Germany are gradually realizing the joint statement regarding cooperation in the field of labor migration, to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese workers to work in this market.
This information was given at a workshop on promoting labor cooperation and preparing for the Vietnam-Germany Forum on labor migration, co-organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, on the afternoon of July 18. Previously, within the framework of the German President's official visit to Vietnam, the two labor ministries of the two countries signed a Joint Declaration of Intent regarding cooperation in the field of labor migration. This declaration marks an important milestone, creating a new cooperation framework, helping to meet the labor needs of both sides.

Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan said that in order to implement the Joint Statement of the Minister, the two sides need to strengthen information exchange mechanisms; increase substantive cooperation efforts, bringing practical benefits to both countries. Therefore, the two sides agreed to organize the Vietnam - Federal Republic of Germany Labor Forum in Berlin. "I believe that with the efforts of both sides, labor cooperation between Vietnam and Germany will increasingly develop, contributing to deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan. According to the leader of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the forum will be an important step in preparation for organizing cooperation events in the labor field on a larger scale and stature on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Germany diplomatic relations in 2025.

Ms. Leonie Gebers, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, expressed her satisfaction with the results of labor cooperation between the two countries in recent years. In particular, Ms. Leonie Gebers highly appreciated the quality of Vietnamese workers in terms of their awareness of learning, improving their qualifications and their ability to integrate into Germany. "Vietnamese people in Germany not only contribute to economic development but also actively participate in local social activities," Ms. Leonie Gebers shared. Ms. Leonie Gebers also emphasized that the Joint Statement opened a new chapter in labor cooperation between the two countries and laid a solid foundation for the sustainable development of this partnership. The organization of the Vietnam - Germany Labor Forum in Berlin is expected to be an important stepping stone to promote labor cooperation between the two countries. Germany is one of the countries with the most developed economies in the world, with a high standard of living and a professional working environment. Therefore, expanding labor cooperation with Germany is considered a great opportunity for Vietnamese workers to increase their income, skills and broaden their horizons. However, representatives of the two ministries said that in order for labor cooperation between the two countries to be highly effective, there are still many challenges that need to be overcome, such as differences in culture, language, professional qualifications and legal regulations. To address these challenges, the two sides need to strengthen cooperation in areas such as vocational training, providing labor market information, and supporting workers to adapt to the new working environment. At the same time, Vietnamese businesses also need to proactively seek information about the German labor market and develop training programs that meet the needs of German employers.
