Raising awareness of food safety for officials and farmer members

From March 25 to 28, the Economic, Social and Environmental Committee of the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union (VFU) in coordination with the Thanh Hoa Provincial Farmers' Union organized 3 training and propaganda conferences to raise awareness of food safety for grassroots union officials, members and farmers.

Conference overview.

Attending the conference, nearly 500 cadres, members and farmers from Ha Trung, Hau Loc and Thach Thanh districts listened to cadres from the Economic, Social and Environmental Committee (Central Committee of Vietnam Farmers' Association) and leaders of the provincial Farmers' Association convey the following contents: Promoting information and communication work for cadres, members, farmers, producers, processors and traders on ensuring food security and safety in the new situation; Organizing training and communication to raise awareness for cadres, members, farmers, producers, processors and traders on ensuring food security and safety; Mobilizing members and farmers to promote their role as subjects in the production of safe agricultural products and food; Building and replicating models of safe food production, processing and trading, chains of safe agricultural and food stores; participating in building models of communes, wards and towns that meet advanced food safety criteria; Support members and farmers to connect safe agricultural and food production facilities, build product brands, geographical indications, and promote products; Strengthen cooperation and mobilize resources to effectively implement food safety work and strengthen coordination in inspection and supervision of food safety and hygiene implementation.

Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Dang Van Quang conveyed the content about food safety at the conference.

The propaganda content at the conference aims to concretize the activities and promote the role of Farmers' Associations at all levels in mobilizing cadres, members and farmers to effectively participate in ensuring food security and safety in the fields of production, business and consumption, contributing to protecting people's health, promoting socio-economic development and meeting the requirements of economic integration in the new situation.

At the same time, improve the knowledge, professional qualifications and skills of the Association's staff in participating in the implementation of food security and safety in the province; raise awareness, knowledge and correct practices on food safety for food producers, traders and food consumers.
