Applying digital technology to production and business, realizing the "Make in Vietnam" strategy

In order to improve professionalism, competitiveness and optimize production costs in the context of fierce competition in the market, in recent years, production and business establishments and enterprises in the province have been proactively approaching digital platforms and applications to serve management and business activities. Thereby, gradually contributing to the realization of the "Make in Vietnam" strategy.


Tam Hong Electric Company Limited applies information technology to improve the efficiency of production and business activities.

Operating in the field of electricity supply, in addition to focusing on improving service quality, regularly investing in renovating and upgrading the power grid system, ensuring safe electricity supply, Tam Hong Electricity Company Limited (Tam Hong town, Yen Lac) proactively applies information technology (IT), modernizes services, and creates convenience for people.

Since 2021, the company has deployed the installation and put into operation a remote electronic meter system to replace the previous mechanical meter. This system will automatically collect data including capacity, power consumption, etc. to the server with high accuracy, helping the company accurately calculate the data and provide the most optimal operating method.

At the same time, the company also cooperates with telecommunications units to deploy the service of sending electricity bill information via SMS system to pay electricity bills through accounts, put into use financial accounting software, electricity bill calculation software, electronic document system to replace traditional management methods...

Mr. Pham Xuan Phong, Director of Tam Hong Electric Company Limited said: "Applying IT and focusing on improving service quality not only helps the company optimize production and business activities but also creates customer satisfaction, contributing to improving the quality of life of people in urban areas".

Also proactively adapting to digital technology, in recent times, a number of cooperatives in the province have taken advantage of social networking sites such as Zalo and Facebook, built sales websites, participated in e-commerce trading floors, reached many customers, and expanded the product consumption market.

A typical example is Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative (Hop Chau town, Tam Dao district), in addition to boldly investing in a cold storage system to preserve products after harvest, a system of breeding rooms, tissue culture, packaging lines, steam sterilization boilers for production, registering exclusive trademarks, barcodes for traceability and processing a variety of products from Cordyceps, the Cooperative is also flexible and creative in finding markets through social networks, fanpages and e-commerce platforms to help stabilize product output. Currently, the Cooperative is supplying the market with 350 tons of mushrooms of all kinds/year, with profits reaching hundreds of millions of VND.

With the attention, direction and support of all levels and functional sectors, digital transformation activities in the province have been promoted, telecommunications and IT platforms have been invested in large scale and modernly, helping production and business enterprises change their traditional production and sales mindset.

Currently, there are 5 telecommunications, internet and pay TV service providers in the province. These enterprises have focused on investing in service quality, strongly developing value-added services towards customers. The transmission infrastructure in the province has been 100% fiber optic, creating absolute advantages in bandwidth, speed and quality.

Furthermore, barcode and QR code scanning devices are increasingly popular, helping to process orders accurately and quickly. Most businesses make customs declarations and tax settlements online.

The province currently has more than 3,800 IT, electronics, telecommunications and digital technology enterprises; over 540 enterprises providing transportation and logistics services using digital technology; and nearly 500 digital technology startups.

However, there are currently no large e-commerce enterprises in the province; e-commerce development support services are slow to develop. Many enterprises are still not really interested in digital transformation and applying IT to improve production and business efficiency...

To achieve the goal of having at least 1,100 digital technology enterprises in the province by 2030, the province continues to build and perfect policies and mechanisms, create a development environment for digital technology enterprises; propagate and raise awareness among people and enterprises about digital transformation; pay attention to training human resources in the field of IT...
