The match schedule of U22 Vietnam at the CFA Team China 2025 Friendly Tournament will be against U22 Korea (March 21), U22 Uzbekistan (March 23) and U22 China (March 25).
On March 19, at a press conference before the tournament, acting head coach of U22 Vietnam Dinh Hong Vinh said: "This friendly tournament is very important for U22 Vietnam.
This is an opportunity for us to test the squad, review the strengths and weaknesses in the playing style. At the same time, evaluate the performance of each player under the pressure of real competition.
Besides, playing against quality opponents will help players improve their skills, coordination and adapt to different situations on the field.
Most importantly, through this tournament, the coaching staff will have a clearer view to perfect tactics and choose optimal personnel for upcoming goals."
The U22 Vietnam squad participating in this year's tournament is a combination of players with extensive international experience and some young faces who have developed well recently.
The experienced names, who won the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, include: captain Nguyen Van Truong, defenders Ho Van Cuong, Nguyen Manh Hung, Nguyen Hong Phuc, midfielder Dinh Xuan Tien, strikers Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Quoc Viet.
Meanwhile, new faces who are playing prominently in the V-League and at the U17 and U19 Vietnam levels include defenders Le Van Ha and Nguyen Nhat Minh, midfielders Viktor Le and Nguyen Quang Vinh, and striker Nguyen Le Phat.
Currently, the U22 Vietnam team has not gathered the best force due to some injuries such as Nguyen Dinh Bac (Hanoi Police Club) and Nguyen Duc Viet (Phu Dong Ninh Binh).
In addition, some prominent faces such as Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Thai Son, Pham Ly Duc are training with the Vietnamese team during FIFA Days in March.

In 2025, the U22 Vietnam team will be trained in training sessions and friendly matches, in order to select the optimal team for two goals: the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers in September, and especially the 33rd SEA Games.
The coaching staff has also agreed to build a consistent playing philosophy and tactics from the national team down to U22 Vietnam."
Evaluating U22 Vietnam's opponents, Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh said that U22 China, U22 Korea and U22 Uzbekistan all come from the continent's leading football teams.
"U22 Vietnam still has some points to improve, but the whole team is in good spirits and has high determination. The three opponents are all strong and will be a quality test for U22 Vietnam in this tournament," said Mr. Vinh.
