Long Son My Xuan general port project is located in Ba Ria - Vung Tau to gradually complete Thi Vai port area according to approved planning.
The investment capital for the project is more than 2,385 billion VND, implemented on an area of about 41.65 hectares.
The port accepts ships up to 30,000 DWT
Investment in the construction of a general port to serve economic activities and industrial zones in the province and neighboring areas; meeting the demand for construction materials in the region.
Along with that is the maximum exploitation of the advantages of natural conditions, geographical location, and traffic infrastructure projects being invested in the area to develop and promote the socio-economy of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular and the Southern region in general.
The project has an investment scale including a wharf with a length of 270m to receive general cargo ships with a capacity of up to 30,000 DWT; 4 barge wharfs with a total length of 530m to receive ships and barges with a capacity of up to 7,500 DWT; warehouse system, cement grinding project (capacity of 2.3 million tons/year), port service infrastructure, and water area in front of the wharf.
According to the approval decision, the Ministry of Finance and relevant ministries and localities are responsible for the assigned contents of project investment policy appraisal, proposed contents and state management in accordance with regulations and authority on investment and relevant laws.
Strict requirements on using forest land for projects
The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to allocate land according to the planning, land use plan and seaport development plan approved by competent state agencies.
Allocate sufficient land for local reforestation, ensuring a balance between environmental protection and local socio-economic development; only change forest use purposes when meeting all prescribed conditions.
Protect forest areas that have been converted to other uses in accordance with the law; only allow impacts on forests when the project has completed all procedures and inspect investors in converting forest uses to other purposes. Inspect and supervise project implementation in accordance with regulations, including capital mobilization.
The Ministry of Construction urgently approves the detailed planning for the development of land and seaport areas of Ba Ria - Vung Tau in accordance with the law, as a basis for investment implementation; coordinates and guides investors in reviewing and completing project documents in the step of preparing a feasibility study report.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is responsible for supporting and guiding the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in land allocation, land lease, permission to change land use purposes, and change forest use purposes to other purposes to ensure compliance with the planning approved by competent authorities according to regulations.
Support and guide investors in completing documents and implementing procedures for environmental impact assessment of the project according to regulations of law on environmental protection; comply with regulations on water resource protection according to regulations of law on water resources during implementation.
