+ Watching Luong Thu Trang play the role of An Nhien in "Heart Rescue Station", many viewers believe that Luong Thu Trang has completely transformed from the gentle role of Cuc in "Girls in the City", becoming one of the most terrifying female villains on Vietnamese screens. To achieve this transformation, Luong Thu Trang must have worked very hard? What was the most difficult thing for Trang and how did Trang prepare for the role of a psychologist with multi-dimensional, unstable, and constantly changing developments like An Nhien?
- Is this "transformation" a compliment from the audience? Trang is really happy that the film has many dramatic and upsetting elements but the audience still follows and supports Trang as well as "Tram"? (Heart Rescue Station - PV).
Trang faced many difficulties when playing the role of An Nhien, not only psychologically but also physically. An Nhien is Trang's least sympathetic role to the audience so far, Trang understands that and Trang also understands that when it airs, Trang will lose a certain number of loving viewers. However, making the audience love and hate the character makes Trang feel that her efforts are not in vain.
At first, Trang encountered some difficulties because, to be honest, Trang had not been “started” before. Studying the script thoroughly is one thing, but studying and delving into a person’s psychology is extremely difficult, especially for a psychologist like An Nhien. Trang herself had to ask a lot of questions as well as learn about people who had experience in this job. In the past, Trang had probably left an impression on the audience as a quick-witted, lively and lovely girl, but now An Nhien is the character that is criticized the most.
Perhaps everyone was most impressed by An Nhien's eyes and Trang also determined to portray An Nhien's psychology mainly through her eyes, so Trang had to practice a lot, to the point that sometimes Trang herself was haunted. However, those were just the initial difficulties, after that, when Trang had found her balance, Trang did not let herself be influenced much because Trang knew that if she did not find a way herself, she would probably go crazy soon (laughs).
+ Previously, Luong Thu Trang was very loved for her gentle but strong female protagonists, knowledgeable and always striving to improve in life. Playing a scheming character like An Nhien, isn't Trang afraid of losing her image? Trang once shared: "I sacrifice and hope a lot for An Nhien". Can Trang share more about this?
- If I say I'm not afraid of losing my image, I'd be lying, but if given the choice, I'd still want to try my hand at the role of An Nhien. The most important thing that I think is worth sacrificing my image is that through "Tram" everyone can see a very different Luong Thu Trang, even though I'm not used to it yet.
Having worked in the profession for more than ten years and being dedicated, Trang always wants to be better every day and to prove that, she must go through each role. Therefore, Trang does not want to be tied to a fixed character line, she also wants to try her hand at many types of roles, to explore the psychology of many lives. Therefore, having a role like An Nhien, Trang sees it as a blessing for Trang to be able to freely create, even though she knows that she will probably have to face different assessments and perceptions, but Trang thinks that if it is an opportunity to change, why not try?
+ Having sacrificed so much and overcome so many challenges to be able to fully transform into the role of An Nhien, what does Luong Thu Trang expect from this year's VTV Award season?
- Trang doesn't think that much. For Trang, the award is not just about holding the cup in hand. The audience's recognition of Trang's performance in the role of An Nhien is the greatest happiness and luck for Trang!
+ In many conversations and sharing, Trang has said that the nature of the acting profession requires actors to play different roles, and that she always wants to change and innovate. Among the many roles Trang has played, has she ever played a female journalist? How does Trang perceive journalism and if given a chance, would she want to try playing the role of a female journalist with personality?
- Previously, Trang participated in the movie "Model Employees" with the role of a journalist, however, the content of the movie was about family, so Trang did not have many opportunities to delve into journalism. In 2021, Trang participated in the movie "Mirror Mask" with the role of a female writer specializing in detective and investigation stories. At that time, Trang truly felt that not only writers but also journalists, to find a topic and publish an article that is truly heartfelt and goes deep into the lives of the audience, the writer encounters many difficulties.
Trang loves dynamism, exploration, adventure... Therefore, if she is assigned a colorful role, with such qualities, like a journalist role, Trang sees it as an opportunity for her to experience and share with the work of journalism. The journalist character line always has a strong attraction for Trang.
Luong Thu Trang in "Heart Rescue Station".
+ Talking about a Luong Thu Trang who is not afraid to renew herself, not afraid to put herself in new challenges, it is impossible not to mention that Trang majored in directing, has now graduated and last summer, appeared as a director with her first play called "Six-color Rainbow". Will the work of a director or an actress be Trang's focus in the future? Does being an actress help Trang a lot in her directing work?
- Going to school helped Trang a lot, such as knowing how to build characters, knowing how to analyze psychology so that her characters always follow the right path. Until now, even though she has graduated from Directing, Trang still determines that she still has to study, study a lot. Being an actor or a director is always a great bond in the process of working. Trang still has a very long way ahead to prove herself.
Currently, Trang is focusing on her main role as an actress. Studying directing is because Trang wants to improve herself, but to be able to devote herself to the role of director, Trang thinks that she needs time, opportunity and must feel truly confident.
+ Thanks Trang for the chat!
