When he was less than 2 years old, Ngo Van Hieu (25 years old, living in Ha An village, Dien Phong commune, Dien Ban district, Quang Nam province) unfortunately became disabled when he suffered from epilepsy, paralysis, body contraction, and brain damage at the same time. However, with extraordinary determination, Hieu did not give up on his fate, overcame adversity to become an inspirational young man.
“Impossible, hopeless”
Mr. Ngo Van Son (52 years old), Hieu's father, could not hold back his emotions and burst into tears when his mind recalled the first months after his disabled child was born. Mr. Son and his wife were filled with tears as they witnessed Hieu not being as fortunate as his peers. His body was paralyzed and was getting thinner and thinner. He had to rely on his parents for all his personal activities. To move, Hieu needed to be carried.
With a sad voice, Mr. Son said that the couple broke down when they saw their child sick. “But we were born, so we have to endure it. Even though we cried a lot, we comforted ourselves. We were not discouraged. We never were,” Mr. Son choked up as he recalled the efforts to treat his child.

Father bursts into tears as he recounts his 'perfect' journey with his son: A miracle built from love
With so much love, money, time, and effort, Mr. Son and his wife gathered everything to save for their child. For many long years, the couple took Hieu everywhere for treatment, hoping for "good fortune and good doctors". "We took our child everywhere for treatment. Everywhere", Mr. Son said, but admitted that there was not much hope: "At that time, we thought that any treatment was not possible. By the age of 10, Hieu still could not walk".
Hieu's slow intellectual development, weak physical condition, and shrinking body… for many years made everyone, including his relatives, lose faith that Hieu would be healthy and normal like other children.
However, a turning point helped Hieu's life turn to a new page. That was when Mr. Son took Hieu to the Ky Anh Center for Disabled Children (sponsored by the Ky Anh Foundation, Kianh Foundation - PV).

Hieu taught himself how to make videos.

With the guidance, care and enthusiastic nurturing from the center's staff, Hieu gradually recovered. Hieu received therapy support. Hieu learned to read and write. Hieu gained additional life skills. Thanks to his eagerness to learn, Hieu became one of the center's most outstanding students.
“For me, the happiest moment was when the center… returned Hieu to his family. That was when Hieu was 18 years old. I was even happier and more excited when Ms. Jackie Wrafter (French, founder and manager of Ky Anh Center for Disabled Children - PV) saw Hieu's ability and hired him to work at the center with full benefits and a salary of nearly 4 million VND/month,” Mr. Son recalled.
That was also the moment when Mr. Son and his wife understood that their son had begun to integrate into life, could take care of himself, and did not have to depend on others for the rest of his life. These were things that the couple had never dared to dream of.
"Compared to before, Hieu has now improved by 70%," Mr. Son said with eyes filled with joy.

Inspirational
From a person who needed care and support to survive in life, Hieu has now become an inspirational figure, spreading positive values to the community, especially the disadvantaged and physically disabled.
Hieu learned how to use computers and phones on his own. Hieu learned how to shoot videos on his own. Hieu researched how to become a content creator... And now, Hieu has nearly 100,000 followers on social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, YouTube.
For many years, this young man has regularly organized livestreams on the topic of life force, how to overcome difficult times, deadlocks... attracting a large number of viewers. Although he still has difficulty speaking and conveying emotions, Hieu's words and sincerity have touched and won the absolute sympathy of listeners. Also from these livestreams, many people with ironic circumstances and cruel fates have become stronger to overcome adversity, just like Hieu did. And ordinary people, after watching, have learned from Hieu about life force, confidence in all difficult situations...

There is a very cute story, that is Hieu found disabled people to form a group to start a business. Hieu is the group leader. The remaining members, some have cerebral palsy, some are paralyzed, some have lost an arm… Each person has different difficult circumstances, but they share the same goal of “choosing a positive life, giving value to the community, and continuing to write dreams together”. They decided to join forces to compensate for each other’s shortcomings with many hopes and ambitions to succeed in business.
Asked Hieu: "What is a motivational quote for you?". Hieu answered: "It's the quote "disabled but not useless".
This disabled man also confided that sometimes during the livestream, he received negative comments. However, Hieu did not get too sad or give up for a simple reason: “Anyone who creates content has had to deal with negative comments. Me too. At that time, I thought about the reason why I started doing it. If I gave up, it would be meaningless,” Hieu confided. On his personal Facebook, Hieu also posted a motivational quote for himself, saying: “Your dream is still ahead, don’t give up because of their words.”

Mr. Van Cong Vuong (31 years old, in the same group of business start-ups as Hieu) said: “Hieu has a good mindset, is responsible, thinks positively and does not want to stand still. Hieu has the determination to support himself, support others, and sympathize with people with the same fate. I learned from Hieu about the determination to not give up.”
Mr. Ngo Van Son, Hieu’s father, shared: “I don’t need anything. I just hope Hieu will be healthy, earn his own living, and not have to rely on anyone anymore. That is also my biggest dream.”
