On the morning of November 25, the final round of the 8th National Moot Court Competition - VMoot 2024 took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, with a heated debate between the two best teams from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and Can Tho University.
Moot court competitions have long been a widely held activity in the world, a highly academic playground. This is also a great opportunity for law students to improve their litigation and public speaking skills and gain experience in solving legal problems right during their studies at university.
In Vietnam, the VMoot competition is hosted by Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, creating an annual academic playground for students from law schools to participate in practice and experience the role of litigators before a hypothetical arbitration panel on legal issues.
In 2024, the VMoot competition was held for the 8th time. The preliminary round took place in September 2024, attracting more than 50 teams from 27 universities with law majors across the country.
After the qualifying round, 12 excellent teams were selected to enter the direct competition round at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
After more than two months of writing defense papers and participating in debates, the top 2 most promising candidates were revealed in the final round of the competition: Team TSUNAMI (Ho Chi Minh City University of Law) and Team CT CYPHER (Can Tho University).
The final round of the National Moot Court Competition - VMoot 2024 took place enthusiastically at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law this morning.
Associate Professor Dr. Tran Viet Dung - Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law - said: "The content of this year's exam revolves around the relationship of construction contract disputes, a common issue in the market economy era but which gives rise to many legal issues between the parties involved.
Through the competition, it has created a useful and interesting playground for law students across the country to exchange, connect, expand their legal knowledge as well as perfect their litigation skills for their future careers."
With the topic revolving around the issue of dispute resolution in construction contracts - a common issue in the market economy era but giving rise to many legal problems between the participating parties, the two teams TSUNAMI and CT CYPHER demonstrated their strength with sharp litigation skills and confident demeanor, and bravery in the face of complex questions from the Arbitration Council.

In the final result, team TSUNAMI from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law won the first prize and team CT CYPHER from Can Tho University won the second prize of VMoot 2024 competition.
The best defense award went to LASAN LAW team of Nha Trang University;
The best contestant award went to student Tran Thi Yen Nhi of Can Tho University;
The most popular team award went to the HOPE team of Nha Trang University;
The award for the most effortful team belongs to the SHARED VISION team of Hanoi Open University.
