Maintain outpatient emergency care

Dr. Nguyen Cong Huu, Director of E Hospital, said that the E Hospital's emergency team is on duty 24/7 to transport patients with accidents, strokes, cardiovascular emergencies, poisoning... in neighboring areas; in coordination with the Hanoi 115 Emergency Center.

At Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, hospital leaders will also regularly inspect and supervise 24/7 emergency shifts to ensure all emergency patients are examined and treated promptly.

Every day, the hospital establishes two emergency teams to be on standby to handle mass accidents and disaster emergencies if any, following the direction of the Board of Directors as well as the mobilization of the Ministry of Health's leaders. All surgeons and medical staff in the hospital are ready to perform their duties when mobilized for disaster emergencies.

In addition, the hospital has arranged additional operating rooms for emergency surgery for patients with closed fractures of the upper and lower limbs, grade I open fractures, spinal injuries, maxillofacial injuries, etc., so that surgery can be performed without waiting, reducing the overload of trauma patients who require long-term treatment at the hospital.

At Bach Mai Hospital, during this year's Tet holiday, in 40 departments, rooms, centers, and institutes under the hospital, there were seriously ill patients who had to stay for treatment, the average number was up to 1,500 patients, most of whom were patients from remote areas.

To provide the best emergency treatment and care for patients, the hospital mobilizes more than 800 high-quality human resources from doctors, nurses to medical staff on duty regularly during Tet holidays.

The hospital has divided into 4 levels of emergency preparedness, treatment and patient care. In addition to doing a good job of treating and caring for seriously ill patients, the hospital also has the responsibility of always being on duty for emergency situations.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of A9 Emergency Center, said that A9 Emergency Center, Bach Mai Hospital, under the direction and assignment of the Board of Directors, has coordinated with related units to develop emergency scenarios for emergency situations when there are traffic incidents and other serious problems such as disasters, poisoning, and out-of-hospital and in-hospital emergencies.

At the Center for Nephrology, Urology and Dialysis, Bach Mai Hospital, there is always a duty during Tet to provide artificial kidney dialysis for patients. The Center's head nurse - Nguyen Thi Thu Ha shared that for patients undergoing periodic dialysis, the Center still ensures to follow the patient's schedule. Particularly on the afternoon of the 30th of Tet and the 1st day of Tet, the Center will arrange reasonable dialysis so that patients can rest and enjoy Tet.

As every year, the shifts are still guaranteed 24/7 to serve patients. The center also proactively decorates and sets up to create a warm atmosphere for patients and medical staff, and coordinates with benefactors to encourage and share with patients during the Tet holidays.

During the days before Tet, thousands of poor patients, those in difficult circumstances, and policy beneficiaries from units, departments, rooms, centers, and institutes of Bach Mai Hospital were discharged.

On their journey home to celebrate Tet, the patients had the joy of being cured, the love was filled during the days in the hospital, receiving the examination, treatment and dedicated care of a team of talented and ethical doctors, and Tet gifts and lucky money envelopes filled with the love of the community through the widespread volunteer activities in the hospital.
