This is a training and friendly match trip of the Vietnam U.23 team to prepare for the 2024 AFC U.23 Championship finals to be held in Qatar next April. During this training trip, the Vietnam U.23 team will play two friendly matches with the Tajikstan U.23 team, on March 20 and March 23 respectively. Both matches will be held at the Republic Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Vietnam U.23 team at Dushanbe International Airport – Tajikistan
The weather in Dushanbe is not too cold at the moment, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius. However, to ensure the health of the players, the Vietnam Football Federation has also carefully prepared warm equipment for the team.
In Dushanbe, the U.23 Vietnam team was arranged accommodation by the host country's organizing committee at the Atlas Hotel, located about 15 minutes by bus from the airport and less than 10 km from the stadium.
After settling down in Dushanbe, the team will start their first training session this afternoon. As head coach Philippe Troussier is currently in charge of the Vietnamese team in two matches against Indonesia in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup (first leg on March 21 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, second leg on March 26 at My Dinh Stadium), assistant coach Moulay Lahsen has been assigned to take charge of the Vietnamese U23 team during the training and competition period in Tajikistan. Accompanying assistant coach Moulay Lahsen are assistant coach Truong Dinh Luat, goalkeeper coach Ngo Viet Trung, analyst Le Minh Dung, medical staff, caregivers and logistics staff.

The number of players in the U.23 Vietnam team traveling to Tajikistan for training and friendly matches is 23. Previously, the list of players called up had 24 names, but midfielder Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong said goodbye to his teammates because he could not recover from his injury in time.
