During the Tet holiday, Hanoi Railway Station still has regular trains going and returning on all routes, serving people visiting relatives and going on spring trips. There are 6 Thong Nhat trains from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, 4 trains from Hanoi to Hai Phong, 3 trains from Hanoi to Vinh, 1 train from Hanoi to Da Nang, and 1 train from Hanoi to Lao Cai. Train passengers during Tet cannot help but be surprised by the decoration at the station, with spaces displaying works of art and check-in points.
The train waiting room on the second floor of the station has been transformed into an exhibition room displaying sculptures, paintings, and photography by artists Trinh Minh Tien, Phan Minh Bach, etc. As introduced by artist Trinh Minh Tien, the conceptual installation series is his way of recreating products from car tires into works of art. The works are displayed like fake rocks, helping viewers contemplate the change and impermanence of all things.
Train passengers can enjoy works of art while waiting for the train. Pictured: One of three large-scale paintings in the painting series Waves - Waves in Bloom by artist Phan Minh Bach.
Dong Khanh Toan (HCMC) said he flew to Hanoi and then continued to his mother's hometown in Nam Dinh. While waiting to return home, he chose Hanoi station as a tourist destination because the station and the train were associated with memories of Tet train trips with his family. "I was very surprised that Hanoi station had such a unique space to display and exhibit works of art. Visitors can visit and take virtual photos, which is very interesting," Toan said.
Trinh Quoc Manh (Nghe An) and Le Thu Trang (Hung Yen), fourth-year students at Hanoi National University, shared that they often choose to travel by train, especially during holidays and Tet because it is more convenient, and the services and amenities on the train are better than on buses. Especially during this Tet holiday, the station displays many works of art, so passengers can both see and learn more about art, and avoid boredom and fatigue while waiting for the train. The railway needs to replicate this model at stations.
Not only enjoying the works of art, young people can live virtually, take check-in photos with the station, the train and the paintings.
On the first floor of the station, right in the main hall, in addition to the peach and kumquat trees bringing the spring atmosphere, there are unique sculptures by artist Tran An, with the spirit of development and aspiration.
Foreign tourists enjoy seeing sculptures by artist Tran An.
Also in the main hall, the railway arranges attractive check-in corners.
Enjoying taking check-in photos while waiting for the train, Tuan Anh (Thanh Nhan, Hanoi) said that he often goes to Hanoi station to pick up and see off his girlfriend to her hometown in Nghe An. He sees that Hanoi station has recently changed a lot, is more beautiful, and attracts more train passengers.
In addition, the railway also introduced new services to serve passengers. In the photo: Automatic ticket "tree", passengers can not only choose and buy tickets through the display screen, but can also pay directly by bank card, quickly and conveniently.
The railway also put into operation a VIP train waiting room. For 20,000 VND/person, passengers will wait for the train in a spacious, comfortable space, admire the history of Vietnam's railways, the history of Hanoi station through paintings, photos and enjoy coffee.
The history of Vietnam's railways is recreated through photos displayed in the VIP train waiting room.
Outside the platform there are many flower pots, bringing a spring atmosphere.
Passengers took the opportunity to take photos and check-in while getting off the train.
