Award ceremony of the contest "Nguyen Nhat Anh and I" in 2024

Taking place from October 10, 2024 to January 10, 2025, the contest "Nguyen Nhat Anh and I" organized by Tre Publishing House has just ended with an award ceremony on March 23 at Tre Publishing House Hall (161B Ly Chinh Thang, District 3, HCMC).

The contest consists of 2 categories: Writing category and Drawing category, each category has 9 official awards by the Jury and 1 Impression award voted online by readers. The final judges for the Writing category are writer, critic Van Gia and the Editorial Board of Tre Publishing House. The final judges for the Drawing category are artist Duc Lam and artist Bui Nam, Head of the Technical - Fine Arts Department of Tre Publishing House.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Ms. Phan Thi Thu Ha, Chairwoman of the Board of Members - Director of Tre Publishing House, said that the contest "Nguyen Nhat Anh and I" aims to create a playground for readers who love Nguyen Nhat Anh's books in particular and reading in general. Through the contest, we aim to encourage reading and expressing their feelings, especially among young readers, in a fast-paced society that easily makes people distant and lonely.

“The entries show that although each contestant likes different books, the common point is that those books have left a strong, unforgettable impression and have been a spiritual support for them. We feel sincere emotions when reading the entries you sent in,” said Ms. Phan Thi Thu Ha.

Within three months, the Organizing Committee received more than 730 entries from readers from all over the country. Among the contestants, there were children in primary school, some in their sixties, some new to Nguyen Nhat Anh’s books, and some who had been “fans” of the writer for decades.

For the Drawing competition, contestants will draw illustrations or fan art of characters, settings, etc. inspired by Nguyen Nhat Anh's works.

Tran Nguyen Ngoc Khue (Second prize winner in the Drawing category) is the youngest contestant in the contest.

Results: First prize in the Writing category went to Pham Mai Huong with the article My First Times , First prize in the Drawing category went to Bui Nhat Phuc Anh with a painting inspired by the work Making Friends with the Sky . In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 1 Second prize, 2 Third prizes, 5 Fourth prizes for each category. The Impression prize went to Nguyen Minh Thai (Writing category) and Huynh Thi Nhu Y (Drawing category).

“In the current situation when many people are complaining about the decline and decline of reading, looking at today's generation of children is a happy thing and I have great confidence in them,” writer Nguyen Nhat Anh expressed.

At the end of the contest, Tre Publishing House will select a number of winning articles and drawings to be printed in the collection "Growing up with Nguyen Nhat Anh's books".

Following this contest, Tre Publishing House will publish a collection of writings called Growing Up with Nguyen Nhat Anh's Books, including a number of writings and drawings selected from the contest "Nguyen Nhat Anh and I".
