An Giang: A bright spot in the school sports movement

The physical education and sports movement at Tri Ton Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Tri Ton District) has been maintained and developed quite strongly. Thereby, it contributes to improving health, developing physical strength, training awareness, discipline and a healthy lifestyle for students and bringing to the school a vibrant competitive atmosphere in many aspects.

The sports movement of Tri Ton Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities took place enthusiastically.

In recent years, along with the good implementation of the school year's tasks, Tri Ton Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has also paid attention to developing the sports movement, helping students improve their physical strength and develop comprehensively in "morality, intelligence, physical fitness, and aesthetics". At this school, students' recess time is rich in sports activities. Small groups share to play their favorite sports. Being relaxed and comfortable both physically and mentally is the common feeling of students in the school.

Principal of Tri Ton Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Cao Thi Phuong Trang, said that identifying the important role of physical education in helping students develop comprehensively, the school has invested in facilities, equipment, and improved the quality of subject teachers. Over the years, the school has harmoniously combined the main physical education program with extracurricular activities. At the same time, attention is paid to building a rich physical training program suitable for each student.

Currently, the school is maintaining strong clubs such as: Volleyball, badminton, pole pushing, attracting many students to participate. Thereby, selecting students with sports talents, continuing to nurture them to compete at all levels. In addition, the school has 3 sports clubs with a total of about 50 students participating, including: Badminton, football and volleyball. Not only attracting students, the sports movement is also actively responded to and participated by staff and teachers. In particular, Pickleball is loved and practiced by many teachers of the school.

In addition, Tri Ton Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has proactively innovated the quality and effectiveness of physical education and sports in schools. In particular, ethnic sports, such as: Ca Om Water Fetching Team, Dragon Boat Racing on Land, Tug of War... are also integrated with the emulation movement "Building a Friendly School, Active Students". The school also focuses on investing in facilities, costumes for students to compete as well as the training process. Currently, Tri Ton Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has a spacious multi-purpose gymnasium, with equipment to meet the needs of training and competition, creating favorable conditions for students to practice and improve their health...

In order to develop the sports movement and create a vibrant competitive atmosphere, every year, on holidays, Tet, and anniversaries, the school organizes sports competitions between blocks and classes, as well as maintains school-level activities. Thereby, discovering, selecting, training, and nurturing students with outstanding talents and skills in sports to participate in Phu Dong Sports Festivals at all levels.

Mr. Chau Phi Na (physical education teacher) said that in addition to teaching knowledge in class, the school also established a number of sports clubs to help students relax after stressful school hours. Through the clubs, it also helps to discover talented students to train and compete at the district and provincial levels. Nguyen Vu Duy Khanh (student of class 8A3) shared: “I have been participating in the volleyball club for 2 years. Playing volleyball helps me improve my team spirit and solidarity; helps me exercise so that I can study better. Thanks to the efforts of the whole team, our performance has improved significantly, achieving high results in exams”.

With the efforts of teachers and students, the attention and support of the school and parents, the sports movement of Tri Ton Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has achieved many remarkable achievements. At the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the district level, school year 2023 - 2024, the school won 4 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 3 bronze medals. At the Sports Festival to celebrate the Party and the Spring of At Ty 2025, the school's students won 2 first prizes, 1 second prize and 1 third prize... These achievements are the driving force for the school's sports movement to develop further.
