BTO-On the morning of November 11, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Duc Linh district to organize a ceremony to receive the provincial-level relic ranking certificate for the historical-revolutionary relic of Doi Lo O Resistance Base, Sung Nhon commune, Duc Linh district.
Attending the event were Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vo Thanh Huy, along with leaders of provincial departments and branches, revolutionary veterans, local authorities and a large number of people from Sung Nhon commune.
During the resistance war against the US, from 1964 to 1975, to avoid the enemy's attacks and sweeps, the army and people of Sung Nhon chose Lo O Hill as their resistance base. Lo O Hill resistance base was closely associated with the revolutionary struggle, reflecting the indomitable will of our army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country, in the midst of the fierce hardships and difficulties of bombs and bullets of war, but they still remained steadfast in building the base to become the rear providing manpower and resources to serve the resistance. During the revolutionary activities in the base area from 1964 to 1975, facing countless hardships and challenges full of dangers of bombs and bullets of war, the army and people of Sung Nhon were still united in overcoming difficulties, staying on the land and in the village, maintaining production, caring for wounded soldiers, transporting wounded, and working as laborers to transport goods to serve the resistance.
At the ceremony to award the provincial-level relic ranking certificate for the historical-revolutionary relic of Doi Lo O Resistance Base, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vo Thanh Huy said: Doi Lo O Resistance Base has entered the heroic revolutionary history of the Party Committee and people of Duc Linh district, reflecting the true and vivid sacrifices and hardships of the previous generations in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Thereby, helping today's young generation not only be proud of the revolutionary fighting tradition of their ancestors but also contribute to arousing patriotism, creating belief, ideals in life, striving to study, striving to fulfill their tasks well, contributing to building the homeland and the country more and more prosperous.
To effectively preserve and promote the value of the relic, the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested: The People's Committee of Duc Linh district needs to establish a relic management board and issue regulations on the operation of the relic management board according to the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage. Along with that, mobilize agencies, units, Fronts, district unions, People's Committees of communes, towns, schools in the district every year on holidays and anniversaries to organize for cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and students to return to Doi Lo O Resistance Base to offer incense in memory of those who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation to propagate the value and significance of the relic site and educate the traditions for generations. Step up propaganda, mobilize businesses, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to support resources, along with the State budget to invest in restoration, embellishment and improvement of the landscape environment of the relic site.
