On the morning of January 19, Ha Long City solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the restoration and embellishment of Ba Chua Temple (Tran Quoc Nghien Street, Bach Dang Ward).

Delegates and people attended the inauguration ceremony.

According to the city's elders, at the end of the 19th century, there was a Ba Chua temple located at the foot of Bai Tho mountain, next to a small creek leading deep into the mainland, where boats and ships were bustling back and forth. When it was formed, Ba Chua temple was just a small temple, about 2 square meters in area, without a roof, and the incense bowls were placed on the rocks. Later, to meet their spiritual needs, the local people built a small temple on the empty land in front of the rocks. Because it was built on alluvial land at the cave entrance close to the sea, the temple's area was very small.

By 2018, when building Bai Tho 1 Bridge, Ha Long City had leveled the entire area in front of the temple, so there was an area to restore Ba Chua Temple to its current state, including the main worshiping room with a square architecture, with an area of about 15 square meters.

City leaders performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony, opened the temple and offered incense.

Over the years, Ba Chua Temple has been one of the places for cultural and spiritual activities of local people. However, because the temple has not been invested in, renovated and embellished in a large and systematic manner, it is not worthy of the historical and cultural value of the temple.

Ha Long City leaders requested the People's Committee of Bach Dang Ward and the Temple Management Board to be responsible for preserving, embellishing, looking after and promoting the value of the temple.

In order to promote traditional cultural values, serve the spiritual needs of the people and implement the project "Ha Long City of Festivals", in early 2024, the People's Committee of Bach Dang Ward reviewed, issued a plan, prepared documents and reported to competent authorities to implement the planning, renovation and embellishment of Ba Chua Temple. The project was assigned to the Management Board of Long Tien Pagoda Historical and Cultural Relics as the investor to implement. The project investment capital comes from donations and other legally mobilized sources.

At the inauguration ceremony, businesses, organizations, units, individuals, and philanthropists, with their faith, continued to contribute to preserve the temple and build additional items to create a synchronous architectural complex for the entire area.

After careful preparation, with full procedures and processes, in June 2024, Ha Long City held the groundbreaking ceremony for the temple. With the efforts of the investor and construction and supervision units, by January 17, 2025, the project was 100% completed, ready to welcome people and tourists to worship.

The temple has a total investment of about 23.7 billion VND, not including the interior of about 2.18 billion VND which is continuing to be mobilized from collectives, individuals, and visitors. The temple has an area of about 132m2; ceremonial gate; left and right service houses and other auxiliary items.

Ba Chua Temple is located at the foot of Bai Tho Mountain (Tran Quoc Nghien Street, Bach Dang Ward, Ha Long City).

After being restored, Ba Chua Temple, together with a system of historical and cultural relics such as Duc Ong Tran Quoc Nghien Temple - Bai Tho Mountain - Long Tien Pagoda, has created a spiritual tourism route, contributing to local economic development. Thereby enhancing the role of the community and people in heritage conservation, the role and interests of the community in tourism development. The project also contributes to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 17-NQ/TU dated October 30, 2023 of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee on building and promoting cultural values, the strength of Quang Ninh people to become an endogenous resource, a driving force for rapid and sustainable development.
